Coins in the ditch

My cousin is the daughter of my aunt's family, she has lived in our house since I was a child, my cousin is only a year older than me, I, my brother, my cousin, the three of them go to school together, go home, play, and become good friends when they were young.

One day, we were walking together on the way to school, and my cousin was very happy with the one-dollar coin that her grandmother had given her, and kept showing off to me and my brother, and just then, with a bang, the coin fell to the ground, and then slowly rolled into the ditch by the side of the road under the surprised eyes of the three of us. It was a sewer ditch, dirty and deep, with a lot of silt in it, and my cousin panicked, and my brother and I were schadenfreude on the sidelines, and after laughing, the three of us began to think about how to fish out the coins, looking at the black water, but there was nothing we could do.

"What are you doing here?" The grandmother asked, we were suddenly overjoyed, as if we had found the main bone, and under our tongue-in-cheek narration, the grandmother also understood the events, and she decided to help us. Grandma directly rolled up the sleeve of her arm, and then reached into the mud and groped for the place where the coin fell in our memory, but unfortunately, the grandmother searched for half a day, still did not find the coin that should have been there, and looked for a while, we finally gave up and accepted this painful fact, my cousin was very sad, and my brother and I were also lost.

We are all very grateful to the grandmother, follow the grandmother to the yard to wash their arms, and then thank the grandmother and prepare to leave, just when we walked to the road, the grandmother came out to stop us, she ran over, gave the cousin a coin, the cousin was surprised and happy, but in the end it was the coin, we recovered our happiness, thanked the grandmother, which also became the topic of talking to the parents for many days after returning home.

This coin has never been fished out, and remains forever on the side of the road in the story, carrying the memories of the three of us and the gentleness and kindness of the grandmother forever.
