On October 4, Cao Zhonghua, a fugitive from major cultural relics crime wanted by the Ministry of Public Security at the A level, was arrested by the police. That night, the police in Xuancheng, Anhui Province, held a brief handover ceremony to hand over the captured Cao Zhonghua to the police in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. At this point, Cao Zhonghua, a man from Xuanzhou who was suspected of major excavation of ancient tombs, finally fell into the legal net after absconding for 7 months.

It is reported that since March 2021, the police in Xuancheng, Anhui Province, have received a tip from the Suzhou police: Cao Zhonghua, a man from Xuanzhou, is suspected of a major excavation of ancient tombs in Suzhou, absconded after the incident, disappeared and asked the Xuancheng police to assist in the investigation. In May of the same year, the Ministry of Public Security issued a Class A wanted notice to arrest the sixth batch of 10 fugitives from major cultural relics crimes: Peng An, Cao Xiaohan, Zhou Gaochan, Cao Zhonghua, Yan Hao, Zhang Dehai, Zhang Shouyong, Wei Chuanguo, Wang Youliang, Li Jie, and Cao Zhonghua.
After 6 months of meticulous investigation, careful research and judgment, the Xuancheng Municipal Public Security Bureau finally locked the suspect in an abandoned house of a farmer in Langxi County. On the afternoon of October 4, xuancheng police and Suzhou police jointly launched a network collection operation to arrest Cao Zhonghua in one fell swoop.
The police disclosed that since 2017, criminal suspect Cao Zhonghua and others have repeatedly excavated ancient tombs from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period in Suzhou City, obtained a large number of precious cultural relics and sold them. The case is under further consideration.
