Liu Chao, male, Han ethnicity, born in October 1988, is a staff member of the Jiangyou Disabled Persons' Federation.
At about 4:00 a.m. on February 23, 2020, Liu Chao was awakened from his sleep by a crackling explosion and a cry for help, and he got up from his bed to see that the home of a household in the fifth unit diagonally opposite was on fire, and the smoke was wrapped in flames from the window, reflecting the night sky before dawn.
Saving people is important, Liu Chao quickly grabbed the door in his pajamas. After Liu Chao went downstairs, he determined that the residents on the 4th floor of unit 5 were on fire, and suddenly remembered that the family usually only lived in the old couple, of which the uncle had perennial mobility problems and was paralyzed in bed.
In a hurry, Liu Chao rushed up the walking staircase while shouting at the other residents of the fifth unit. At the landing of the stairs on the third floor, he took a fire extinguisher and continued to rush to the fourth floor. When we reached the fourth floor, the door of the burning house was open. Liu Chao stepped into the room and found that the smoke was thick inside, and he wanted to use the fire extinguisher in his hand to extinguish the fire, but considering the safety of the old couple at the scene, he immediately decided to transfer the two old people downstairs first. Due to the uncle's inability to move, Liu Chao had to lean down and carry him, and instructed his aunt to follow him downstairs to evacuate. Downstairs, Liu Chao placed the uncle in the guard room, looked back and found that the fire upstairs had spread to the entire house, at this time Liu Chao immediately ran to the courtyard of the community to call out to inquire about the safety of other neighbors.
Then the fire truck arrived at the scene, Liu Chao led the firefighters to find the location of the fire hydrant, and assisted in opening the fire hydrant and sorting out the water bag, until the final fire was completely extinguished, he left the scene without a sound.
