The former residence of Qianliju Guangzhou is on Duobao Road, and before this visit, Shanshan Sanya had passed by Duobao Road countless times, but never noticed the existence of qianliju's former residence. This time, when Shanshan Sanya walked on Duobao Road, she kept an eye on observation all the way, and because this time she consulted the information in advance and knew the house number, she did not spend too much effort to look for it. Originally, on the first floor of the former residence of Qianliju, it has now become a shop selling "roasted goose", and usually after passing by the "food" in this area, it is ignored that a sign of "Guangzhou Liwan District Cultural Relics Protection Unit" is hung on the wall.
In order to see clearly the building of the former residence of Qianliju, I walked in from the side alley next to the main street and saw a western-style building with a frame structure, three and a half floors and two bays, built with the principle of Chinese central axis symmetry, although the appearance looks a little old, but it can feel very strong, and the outer wall is waved with a simple pattern, giving people a comfortable and simple feeling. It is said that the residence of Qianliju, self-titled "Wulu", covers an area of about 72 square meters, built in the early Republic of China, the building sits north to south, on one side is the road surface of Duobao Road, on the other side is the north of the houses, and on the other side is Duobao Daxin Street. I can also see a number of large rectangular windows on the spot, presumably for daylighting, and look up at the location of the street frontage on the third floor, which has a small balcony. From the outside, the first floor is used as a shop, and the other floors are still inhabited indoors, but the door is locked, and I can't go inside to visit.
In front of this former residence of Qianliju, there is also a "love story" about Qianliju: He Xisheng, the owner of xiguangyuan gold shop in Xiaoshi Street, Guangzhou, the family loves to watch Cantonese opera, and He Xisheng's daughter He Baoshan was deeply moved by the performance of Qianliju, which gave birth to strong feelings and love, vowed to secretly promise lifelong, non-Qianliju did not marry, and missed it and was sick in bed. After Boss He learned of his daughter's heart, in order to fulfill his daughter's wishes, he entrusted someone to be a matchmaker, formally married, and also invited the boss of the Costume Shop Yu Maolong to be a matchmaker and succeeded. Qian Liju and He Baoshan became friends in this building on Duobao Road, and on the day of their marriage, the citizens were lively and watched, which was a good story for a while. After getting married, the couple lived a happy and harmonious life, and after giving birth to three sons after marriage, He Baoshan died of illness shortly after. The eldest son, Xi Ling, the second son, Xi Jun (married to Bai Baixian, the daughter of Bai Jurong), and the third son, Xi Hao, did business abroad, but unfortunately failed to inherit his father's mantle. After Qianliju lost his wife, he once lost his hometown, and after being advised by relatives and friends, he remarried Yu Huiqing as his successor, and Yu worked as a ticket manager at the Jinsheng Theater and did not have children.
On March 20, 1936, when Chiri koma was re-entering the stage, he died of overwork at the age of 48. On the day of the funeral, all the major red men in the province and Hong Kong came to attend the funeral, and some of them also mourned in mourning, and the street onlookers and fans all mourned with nostalgia, leaving an indelible deep impression on this generation of artists. The former residence of Qianliju on Baohua Road has become a place where people remember this Cantonese opera master, but with the passage of time, when the older generation of people get old or leave, fewer and fewer people know about this place, fortunately, it is still well preserved and has been listed as a cultural relics protection unit.
