The snake was identified by an authoritative body through DNA testing (Thamnophis sirtalis).

The common banded snake belongs to a snake genus of the suborder Travis family, the banded snake is small, generally less than 100 cm, but more aggressive, the most widely distributed reptile in North America, mainly living in the United States, when disturbed, the head will be hidden, the tail will be squirming, while discharging an unpleasant secretion from the glands, some species bite people. Since snakes can carry a variety of important parasites, as well as a variety of pests such as ticks and mites outside the body, according to the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Quarantine of Animals and Plants Entering and Leaving the Country and relevant regulations, imported live snakes must go through relevant quarantine procedures, and only after passing the quarantine can they enter the country.
