The other world in the film is actually constructed by Xiulin, which is the lonely Xiulin's own world, and when she found her lover, she personally sent him into this otherworld. It's not so much a punishment as a compliment—my lonely world, only you can walk into.
At the same time, this experience is equivalent to giving the criminal a chance to whitewash his identity, you are not the one who hurt me, but my lover, because you have a history.
Compared with Stockholm syndrome, this is also a pathological personality, but it is full of cuteness in horror.
Of course, if there is indeed another world where time stops, and the hero and heroine do experience encounters that others do not have, I am willing to choose to believe.
