This pest on the fruit tree, which harms for 7 months a year, tells you the most effective control method

author:Suiyang Agricultural Sciences

June is apple, grape, pear, peach tree and other fruit trees young fruit expansion period is the fastest time, is the first expansion period of fruit, due to the high temperature, not only conducive to the growth of fruit trees, but also conducive to the occurrence and spread of diseases and insect pests, especially the two-star leafhopper on the fruit tree is more harmful, once the prevention and control is not timely, can cause leaf photosynthesis to decrease, resulting in a large number of fruit drops, the impact on the yield is huge.

Symptoms of grape damage

Symptoms of two-star leafhopper hazards

The two-star leafhopper is also known as the two-point floating dust and the two-point leafhopper. It is a hemiptera, a pest of the leafhopper family, mainly harming the leaves of grapes, apples, pears, peaches and other fruit trees, with adults and nymphs sucking the sap in the leaves on the back of the leaves, at the beginning of the victimization, the front of the affected leaves will appear to lose green and small white spots, with the severity of the damage, multiple white spots converge into large spots. In severe cases, the entire leaf is pale, resulting in reduced photosynthesis of the leaves, or even early shedding, resulting in poor growth of fruit trees and fruit fall.

Nymph

Occurrence of two-star leafhoppers

Two-star leafhoppers generally occur in 3 generations per year, and adults overwinter in orchard weeds, under deciduous leaves, soil crevices, stone crevices, etc. In April of the following year, when the temperature is right, the adult insects begin to move, and now the weeds in the orchard are harmful, and when the leaves of the fruit trees are unfolded, they can be transferred to the fruit trees such as apples, pears, peach trees, grapes, etc. The adults like to move on the back of the leaves during the day, laying eggs under the epidermis or in the villi on both sides of the leaf veins on the back of the leaves. The first generation of nymphs is in full incubation from late May to mid-June, while the first generation of adults enters the peak of harm in early to mid-June. Subsequent generations overlap, with the second generation of nymphs occurring from early July to early August, the first to mid-August as the peak of adult pests, and the third generation of nymphs from early September to late October. The third generation of overwintering adults appeared in late September. After entering November, when the temperature is too low to be suitable for its activities, the adults hide in the crevices of the bark, the crevices of the soil, the crevices of the stone, and the under-leaves. The damage lasts for more than 7 months, adults and nymphs feed on the back of the leaves, adults like shade, and when disturbed, they jump.

Harmful crops

The two-star leafhopper harms a wide range of crops, and can harm fruit trees such as grapes, apples, pears, peach trees, kiwifruit, hawthorn, etc., as well as chrysanthemums, dahlias, a bunch of red and other flowers.

Prevention and control methods

(1) Soil treatment: combined with spring topdressing, soil treatment, 2% thiamethoxine granules per mu 2000 ~ 3000 grams mixed with fertilizer, strip application or ditch application around the fruit tree and mix with the soil after mixing soil cover, the agent dissolved in the soil, through the root system absorption, the agent is transmitted to the upper leaves of the fruit tree, killing pests, long effectiveness, good effect.

(2) Flushing with water: In the early stage of the occurrence of two-star leafhoppers, 30% thiamethoxine suspension agent 5000 ~ 6000 times liquid combined with fertilizer watering, with water flushing or combined with drip irrigation, with 30% thiamethoxine per acre 300 ~ 500 ml, can also effectively prevent the harm of two star leafhoppers.

(3) Foliar spraying: In the early stage of dilarcidhocephalus, it can be used in rotation with 60% enadine furoxime amine wettable powder 3000 to 4000 times liquid spray, or 50% pyridine 4000 to 6000 times liquid spray, or 30% biphenyl furuproamide suspension 2000 to 3000 times liquid spray. Spray every 10 to 15 days, regularly.
