A spokesperson for The Crown issued a statement in response to Jemima Khan's criticism, saying she had never been hired as a screenwriter for the show.
"Jemima Khan has been a friend, fan and public supporter of The Crown since the first season," the statement said.
"She never signed a contract with a writer for the series."
