Mohammed Salah's 100th Premier League goal helped Liverpool beat 10-man Leeds United 3-0 in a game on Sunday that was injured by dislocated teenager Harvey Elliot

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said the club would do everything in its power to support Javi Elliott after being seriously injured in the Reds' 3-0 win over Zleigh United.

After substitute Pascal Struik was sent off for challenging Elliot, the home team played the final half-hour match against 10 men, who underwent lengthy treatment before being carried away on a stretcher.

Elliott, 18, posted a picture of himself giving a thumbs up on Instagram before working full-time and wrote, "Thank you for your message!" The road to recovery.

"He had a serious injury to his ankle," Klopp said. "I heard it was dislocated so we could put it back and he's in the hospital now." Obviously, we have to wait. He played an incredible game and was an incredible player.

Elliott needed a long period of treatment on the pitch

"Do I wish such a little boy in his early career had such an experience?" No, but that's the case now, so we have to be there and we'll be there. We'll play football without him, but we'll wait for him to be okay because obviously he's a top player. ”

Responding to Elliott's social media post at a press conference, Klopp said: "One of my favorite Instagram posts, if he's already done that, shows he doesn't suffer too much, so it's great.

"We've all seen that the ankle wasn't in the right place and the medical team put it in the right place. There wasn't much good to say or it would be serious injury. We'll have to wait for further inspections and scans."

Klopp's side have won their fifth consecutive league win away from home and are now unbeaten in 14 league games, dating back to last season.

Mohammed Salah sent Trent Alexander Arnold's signature low post back home in the first half of the unilateral – his 100th Premier League goal.

Harvey Elliott was comforted on the pitch

Salah became the 30th different centurion, with only four players reaching the milestone less than the Egyptian (162 matches).

"With Mo's record, it's crazy," Klopp added. "I don't know how much he can break, and he's probably very eager to do that. What a great player since he joined us! And he was still hungry.

"I saw him in the dressing room and we were all related to Harvey, but he was still upset that he didn't score one or two other goals. The top players are like that, which is good. ”

Fabinho scored a goal five minutes into the start of the second quarter and Sadio Mane scored a well-deserved third place in the third quarter to extend Liverpool's unbeaten start.

"I think we're really good," Klopp continued. "We played the top game for a long time. After the red card and Harvey came off, obviously everyone was shocked and we lost the rhythm a bit but still controlled the game.

"We gave them too many counter-attacks and set-pieces, which is true, but who cares. We should play more of the football we play.

"The goal of Trent's Cross mo is an example of what we should be doing often. We have a lot of situations like that, but we just can't find the players.

"3-0 was a good result and we weren't so greedy to stand here and say we should win 5, 6 or 7-0. We have a lot of opportunities, but we still have room for improvement. ”

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk said:

"First of all, all our thoughts and prayers go to Harvey. Hopefully he will recover as soon as possible and be as good as possible. Obviously at this stage, we don't know the diagnosis at the moment, but it looks bad.

Other than that, in a fierce match, it was a fantastic victory. From an atmospheric point of view, I liked it as we hadn't experienced it in a while, but obviously there were two feelings.

"From the moment I was injured, I saw Mo [Salah] yelling from the sidelines and I saw Harvey's reaction, so I knew it was really serious. It was hard to refocus, but we had to cope. We tried to deal with it in the best possible way.

"I will be 100% supportive of Xavi, fortunately I and all the players and staff of Liverpool have experienced them supporting me. They also supported me in difficult times, so I was 100% sure they would serve Harvey as well. ”

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson tweeted: "Excellent results and performances against tough teams.

"However, it was horrible to see Harvey get hurt like this... His thoughts are with him and I know he will get all the support he needs and he will be stronger! We are here for you! ”

In an Instagram post wishing Elliott all the best, Streuik wrote: "In today's game, something happened that I would never have wanted to happen to anyone.

"My thoughts are with you. I was sad and never intended to let that happen. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you back on the pitch soon. ”

Jamie Redknapp:

"I have feelings for him. The recovery now begins. I would say that there are players who have recovered from terrible injuries. I think of Andre Gomez in Everton. Questions have been raised about whether he will play again.

"Finger crossing is a straightforward breakthrough because some things can be much more complicated and will keep you away for longer.

"I feel sorry for this young man. It was the beginning of an incredible journey for him. He's just made it to the first team and he looks comfortable in the Premier League.

Pascal Streuik was fired for a challenge

"There's no doubt he'll do it again. He just has to be patient and listen to the right people. He will feel heartbroken, but I hope he recovers soon. Ten fingers clasped together, he will come back stronger. ”

"Every time you take on a challenge, you endanger someone.

"After reading it, I personally feel that this is a harmless challenge. Was he trying to hurt him? No, of course he didn't. It's just one that happens from time to time in football.

"I actually feel sorry for the players involved because it's a very difficult thing for the players. The players find these things really hard to overcome, so it's a very bad situation. ”

Leeds boss Bielsa said:

"We're not always managers in games. They were superior to us in every way. I don't know why. I need to know what the reason is. When we conceded the ball, they created danger. Of course it made me worry that we lost the game 3-0. ”

On the red card: "I regret that the opponent was injured and I am 100% sure that our players are not malicious. I hope this didn't happen. ”

Leeds defender Stewart Dallas said:

"The crowd gave us a boost but Liverpool made us sad. You won't have many chances. Unfortunately, we can't catch either one. We want to make the team that comes to Elam as difficult as possible.

"A 3-0 defeat is never a good thing. We have to be better than that, and we're really, really disappointed.

"It's easy to say that the second season [in the Premier League] was hard. We got two points in four games, so it's easy to say that. ”
