Cheng Pu, Zi Demou, Right Beiping Tuyuan people. Originally a state and county petty officer, he was good-looking and good at debate. He followed Sun Jian in Wanxian and Deng County to fight the Yellow Turban Army, defeated Dong Zhuo at Yangren, and repeated sieges and field battles, leaving him scarred.
Sun Jian died, and Cheng Pu followed Sun Ce to Huainan, attacked the Lujiang River, and returned to the army to cross the Yangtze River in the east. Sun Ce went to Hengjiang and Dangli, defeated Zhang Ying, Yu Lu, and others, and instead attacked Moling, Huyi, Jurong, and Qu'a, and Cheng Pu all had military achievements. Sun Ce added two thousand soldiers and fifty warhorses to him. The army conquered Wucheng, Shimu, Bomen, Lingchuan, Yuhang and other counties, and the general Zhongcheng Pu contributed the most. Sun Ce was stationed in Huiji, and Cheng Pu was made the governor of Wu County, and the administrative office was located in Qiantang. Later, he was transferred to Danyang Duwei and garrisoned in Shicheng. He also recruited mountain thieves from Xuancheng, Jing County, An Wu, Lingyang, and Chungu counties, and pacified them. Sun Ce once attacked Zulang, surrounded by Zulang's soldiers and horses, Cheng Pu and a cavalry to protect Sun Ce, he urged his horse to shout, holding a spear to rush to the enemy army, the enemy army retreated, Sun Ce took advantage of this to rush out of the encirclement. Later, he appointed Cheng Pu as the general of Lang Kou Zhonglang and concurrently served as the Taishou of Lingling, leading his troops to accompany Sun Ce to Xunyang to attack Liu Xun, and then with Sun Ce to attack Huangzu in Shamei, and after retreating, he still returned to Shicheng to defend.
After Sun Ce's death, he assisted Sun Quan with Zhang Zhao and others. Lead an army between the three counties to fight and pacify the disobedient places. He also participated in the Battle of Jiangxia, and when he returned, he passed by Yuzhang and pacified Le'an. After that, he replaced Tai Shi Ci in guarding Hai Di, and Zhou Yu was appointed as the left and right governors, defeating Cao Cao at Wulin and attacking Nan Commandery, where Cao Ren fled. After that, he was appointed as the general of Pei, and also the Taishou of Jiangxia, with the seat of government in the four counties of Shamei and Shiyi.
Among the older generals of the Wu Kingdom, Cheng Pu was the oldest, and at that time, people called him Cheng Gong. Cheng Pu was happy to give alms and handed over to the scholar doctor. After Zhou Yu's death, Cheng Pudai served as the Taishou of Nan Commandery. Sun Quan ceded Jingzhou to Liu Bei, and Cheng Pu returned to serve as the Taishou of Jiangxia and was promoted to general of Lang Kou until his death. Sun Quan declared himself empress dowager, remembered Cheng Pu's exploits, and made his son Cheng Zhi the Marquis of Ting.
Cheng Pu, year of birth and death unknown, was a famous general in Jiangdong at the end of the Han Dynasty, and served as the monarch of Sun Jian, Sun Ce and Sun Quan. In his early years, he followed Sun Jian to negotiate the Yellow Turban and break it; and Sun Ce dongdu, with whom he pacified Jiangdong, with outstanding military achievements; Sun Ce died, and together with Zhang Zhao, Zhou Yu and others, he assisted Sun Quan to suppress Shanyue, from Zheng Jiangxia, ping to Le'an. In the Battle of Chibi, he and Zhou Yu were the left and right governors, and they broke Cao. Take advantage of the victory to enter the South County, and have merit. Zhou Yu (周瑜卒), replaced by Nan Commandery Taishou (南郡太守), was the general of Qiandang Kou. Cheng Pu was the oldest among the generals who served the Sun family in his early years, so he was called Cheng Gong at the time. Raw good looks, scheming, good at adapting. He is helpful by nature and likes to make friends with doctors. In the first year of the Huanglong Dynasty, Sun Quan declared himself emperor, posthumously discussed cheng pu's meritorious service, and named his son the Marquis of Ting.
