Born into a family
Zhou Yu was born in 175, a native of Shu County, Lujiang, and came from a large family. His grandfather Zhou Jing and uncle Zhou Zhong both served as lieutenants of the Han Dynasty, and his father Zhou Yi served as Luoyang Ling, and he was born in such a family and naturally received a good education from an early age. And he himself is tall and handsome, which can be said to be outstanding in all aspects. Therefore, his reputation was spread very early, and he and Sun Ce met in their early years, and the two families were once neighbors.
After rejecting Yuan Shu, Zhou Yu returned to Wu County with Lu Su, and Sun Ce had always appreciated this friend. As soon as he heard that he had returned, he immediately greeted him personally and awarded it to General Jianwei Zhonglang. And gives shelter, bands, and so on, and the rewards are so rich that no one can match them. Zhou Yu was only 24 years old that year, and later Sun Quan succeeded to the throne, and he also respected and treated Zhou Yu very much like an elder brother. In fact, from the treatment of the two Sun family, we can see the influence of Zhou Yu, if not talented, how can it win the attention of two generations of monarchs.
Anbang Heavy Minister
In fact, zhou Yu made many plans for Wu Guo and made great contributions to laying the foundation of Jiangdong. Cao Cao defeated Yuan Shao at the Battle of Guandu, and in the seventh year of Jian'an (202), he ordered Sun Quan to send the hostages to Cao Cao's place. At that time, the benefits obtained are only one side of the Houyin, how can it be compared with the creation of their own industry, called the lonely way?
The words spoke out the ambition in Zhou Yu's heart, what he wanted was definitely not a prince of one side, nor was it a three-legged stand. And Zhou Yu may not lack this ability, which must start from the most prominent battle record of his life- the Battle of Chibi. In the autumn of the thirteenth year of Jian'an (208), Cao Cao led a large army to attack Sun Quan, and many ministers feared cao Cao's forces for support of surrender. Including Zhang Zhao and Qin Song, Zhou Yu analyzed the key to victory and defeat and vigorously advocated the battle. Cao Jun traveled a long way, the northerners were not good at water warfare, and Ma Chao and Han Sui were in trouble.
In this way, cao Cao could only bring out 150,000 or 60,000 troops, and Liu Biao's newly surrendered 70,000 or 80,000 people did not want to fight him, so they could fight. It was under his analysis that Sun Quan made up his mind, and as a result, everyone knew that Cao Caozhong was defeated and retreated. The Battle of Chibi laid the foundation for the establishment of the Three Kingdoms, and from this battle, we can see how powerful Zhou Yu's plan is. Died of illness in Bachu
After the Battle of Chibi, Zhou Yu made another great effort to break Cao Ren, and for a time both Liu Bei and Cao Cao had such a strategist stabbed Sun Wu in the back. The Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms records that Zhou Yu was also quite jealous of these two men, and proposed that Liu Bei be placed under house arrest and directly manage the army deployment of Liu Bei's camp. Sun Quan believed that Cao Cao still needed to be contained in the north, and he was afraid that Liu Bei would be difficult to control, so he did not adopt it. Immediately after that, Zhou Yu proposed to conquer Yizhou, but unfortunately, before the conquest was successful, Zhou Yu died.
In the fifteenth year of Jian'an (210), Zhou Yu returned to the garrison as a general, and just arrived in Baqiu (present-day Yueyang, Hunan) and died of an illness at the age of 36. The Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms records that Sun Quan cried on the spot when he heard that Gong Jin had wang Zuo's assets, and now he was short-lived, so why did he rely on him? He also personally put on his mourning clothes to mourn for Zhou Yu, personally greeted the coffin, and held a beautiful funeral for him.
When the Tang Dynasty posthumously awarded the sixty-four generals, Zhou Yu was listed, and only Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhang Liao, Lü Meng, Lu Xun, Deng Ai, and Lu Kang were on the list at the same time. When the Song Dynasty set up seventy-two generals during the Xuanhe Period, there was also Zhou Yu, and Zhou Yu's historical influence and status were far from what was written in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
