Zheng Jun was born in Xi'an in 1967 to a family of intellectuals, and when Zheng Jun was 7 years old, his father died of illness. Zheng Jun was admitted to Hangzhou Institute of Electronics Industry in 1987 and studied industrial foreign trade. For professional reasons, he has the opportunity to contact a large number of foreign cultures, of which the most profound feeling is music. His "bond" with music was established from this time. During his time at school, he heard many excellent pop and rock music in Britain, the United States and the sixties and seventies, and some outstanding singers, bands and their works made him deeply fascinated.

He bought an acoustic guitar with the money he had saved in his life, and without any musical foundation, began to practice drunkenly and tirelessly. He has fallen in love with music.

At this time, he was faced with two paths: one was to study a good profession and become an excellent businessman in the future; the other was to develop his hobbies. Of course, you can't have both. If you choose one, you will sacrifice the other. After painful thinking, Zheng Jun resolutely left the school at the expense of his profession and devoted himself to music practice.

This was definitely a bold move at the time. However, the two years of cold encounters that followed made him full of despair. The cold reality made it difficult for him to face calmly, so he hid in the music and searched hard.

With this tenacity and persistence. He finally waited for his chance, and he met Guo Chuanlin, a famous music manager in Beijing. It was a very accidental and dramatic acquaintance, Guo Chuanlin praised Zheng Jun after listening to a sample of Zheng Jun's songs, Guo Chuanlin immediately recommended him to the Red Star Production Society, Red Star saw Zheng Jun's potential with keen insight, and encouraged him to continue to engage in music creation.

The sincerity and high level of production of musical talents shown by Red Star also attracted this young man who loved music, so much so that Zheng Jun decided to give up his plan to go abroad. In July 1992, Zheng Jun signed a contract with Red Star Production Society and became a professional singer-songwriter.

In June 1994, he released his debut solo album Naked. Among them, works such as "Back to Lhasa", "Naked", "Elysium", "Cinderella" and other works have been widely circulated in China.

At the beginning of 1998, after the voting of listeners across the country and the entire Chinese-speaking region of Southeast Asia, Zheng Jun won the "Best Male Singer of Shenzhou" award issued by the "CHANNEL V" of the satellite TV music station in 1997, which was the first time that a mainland singer won this award.

On April 1, 1999, his first album "Blooming" was officially released by Shanghai Audiovisual, less than 5 days after its listing, and the first batch of 200,000 cassettes were all sold out. Beijing, Shanghai and many other big cities have run out of stock, and shanghai audio-visual high-level people have bluntly said that "such a scene has not appeared for many years." ”
