Tigers rookie attacking striker Williams shoulder and lip joint tears

Tigers, June 26 -- The Tigers' first-round show offensive striker Jonah Williams has been injured and could miss his entire rookie season.

On Tuesday, US time, the team officially announced that Williams underwent surgery to repair the shoulder and lip joint laceration, and may miss the entire rookie season.

Williams hadn't attended the mini camp before. Head coach Zac Taylor said: "We still expect Jonah to be a key player in the future and know he will not let injuries hinder his personal development. We believe in our offensive fronts and they can continue to work hard in the training camp to help the team achieve their goals. ”

Williams has been consistently seen as one of the best offensive forwards of the Class of 2019. The Tigers removed him with the No. 11 pick, believing he could help fill the void since the departure of Andrew Whitworth two years ago.

Cordy Glenn, who was currently scheduled to switch to defending the front, could return to the left side. Christian Westerman and 9-year veteran John Jerry will compete for the defensive position.
