According to reports, the abducted man Wendong was born in Mianyang, Sichuan in 1985, and was abducted and sold to Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, with his mother at the age of 3. Later, his mother committed suicide, and Wendong began to work alone at the age of 14, but all the income had to be given to his adoptive father. Due to the perennial wandering and hard life, Wendong's heart is full of haze and he always wants to return to his home.

In April 2016, Wendong's wife sent out a search for help when the baby returned home to find a network. On January 13, 2019, the baby went home to find the subnet through the "Today's Headlines To find people" public welfare project, and the news was pushed to Mianyang, the suspected household registration place. On January 18, the police of the Youxian Public Security Bureau saw the search news pushed by the headlines, found that it was highly consistent with the family information of the local missing child Wendong, and found that the male relatives of his father's (deceased) original family did DNA identification through investigation, confirming that Wendong was the abducted child that year, and Wendong finally found his relatives.
