Italian media: Lazio is close to signing Pedro, who has prepared a 2-year contract for the player

According to Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi reported earlier today, Lazio is working to sign Roma striker Pedro, who are close to a 2-year deal.

Pedro is reportedly not in Roma boss Jose Mourinho's plans, while Sarri, who coaches Lazio, has made it clear that the club consider signing the player.

Considering that Pedro's contract expires in 2023 and that his annual salary is around €3 million, Roma are willing to let Pedro leave. Red Wolves want to sell Pedro for 2 million euros, and if the offer is not received, the two sides may terminate the contract.

Lotito doesn't want to pay a transfer fee for Pedro, but the two clubs can negotiate ways to solve the problem. The 34-year-old Pedro, who has won 25 trophies in his career, was able to be a mentor to young players like Raul Moro and Luca Romero.

Lazio is in contact with Pedro's entourage, and Pedro himself is willing to transfer. Lazio is currently preparing to give him a 2-year contract with an annual salary of 2.5 million euros, but Pedro's agent is fighting for a contract with an annual salary of 3 million euros, which is on par with his income in Rome.

New contacts are expected shortly from the two sides and a possible agreement in the coming days. If the transfer is successful, it would be pertaining to a player trade between the two clubs since Perone moved from Lazio to Roma in 1981.
