Speaking of Gongxing, the "Grub Festival" on the fourteenth night of the first month of each year is already a household name in Nanchong, and on this day, the surrounding ten miles and eight townships and even the vast number of Nanchong citizens will flock here to participate in the annual "Grub Festival". Let's revisit the pomp and circumstance of the 2019 "Toad Festival".

"Sing folk songs, send grubs, shake tender bamboo...", on February 18, 2019, the Gongxing "Grub Festival" in Shunqing District was held in Gongxing Town, Nanchong, and tens of thousands of people gathered at the event site to experience the unique local folk culture of this year.

As it gets darker, more and more people gather from all directions to the mouth of the town. Both from the city and from neighboring counties and villages, everyone held aloft the toad lamp and slowly moved forward under the guidance of the police and security personnel.

At nightfall, people from all over the world began to gather from both sides of the highway to the mouth of Gongxing Street.

Traffic police comrades direct passing vehicles to ensure that the activity is carried out safely and orderly.

Compared with the toad lamps produced on the assembly line, Gongxing people are more fond of the original bamboo lamps. The long young bamboo is tender green throughout, with a broken section at the top, and the scattered bamboo strips are tied tightly with bamboo or wire, and the ends are tapered and the middle is spherical.
