Zhang Xu was a Tang Dynasty cursive calligrapher, revered as "Grass Sage", and there are many cursive works passed down from generation to generation, but the style has changed greatly. There are masterpieces that inherit tradition, such as "Late Repetition", and there are also the masterpieces of wild grass that subvert the tradition, "Four Ancient Poems"; there are both chaotic grass "Belly Pain Posts" written when the stomach pain attacks, and there are more crazy cursive books "Cruel Autumn into Luoyang" written by drunkenness and confusion.
Zhang Xu (685 – 759 CE), courtesy name Bogao, was a native of Wu County, Wu County (present-day Suzhou, Jiangsu Province), and a famous calligrapher of the mid-Tang Dynasty. Like to drink, the world is called "Zhang Qian", with Huai Su and called "Bump Zhang Drunk Su", with He Zhizhang, Zhang Ruoxu, Bao Rong and called "Wu Zhong Si Shi", and he Zhizhang and others together called "Drinking eight immortals", and its cursive writing is called "Three Absolutes" with Li Bai's poetry and Pei Min's sword dance. Zhang Xu was both a well-known poet and a wild grass in the Tang Dynasty.
Zhang Xu's "Cruel Autumn into Luoyang Thesis", is a self-composed poem, but the cursive is too crazy, may be too much alcohol when writing, drunk writing, many words are not easy to recognize, however, this work is indeed a rare masterpiece of excellence, because the work is created under special wine, special state, special conditions, that kind of madness is unrepeatable, so this wild grass work is unique. It is said that the post was preserved in shanxi's "Dai Ti" (绛帖) and was passed down from generation to generation, and during the reign of Emperor Taizong of Song, Shang Shu Lang Pan ShiDan was engraved in Daizhou, and was one of the four famous posts.
