Over the past few days, finless porpoises have frequently appeared in waters such as Miaozui in the Yichang section of the Yangtze River, and they sometimes jump out of the water and sometimes travel with the waves. The picture shows the porpoise jumping out of the water.
The Yangtze River finless porpoise is the world's only freshwater subspecies of the finless porpoise, which has lived on the earth for 25 million years, and is known as the "living fossil" and "giant panda in the water" of the Yangtze River ecology. Finless porpoises are at the top of the biological chain in the ecological environment of the Yangtze River, and are the flagship and indicative species of the Yangtze River, with less than 1,000 heads now, and are only distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and areas such as Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake. With the continuous advancement of the comprehensive ban on fishing in Yichang Chinese Sturgeon Nature Reserve, the continuous promotion of chemical plants along the river, and the prevention of pollution by ships, the ecology of the Yangtze River continues to improve, and the number of finless porpoises that can be observed in Yichang waters has increased year by year. The picture shows the porpoise rolling and jumping on the surface of the river.
After the improvement of the ecological environment in the Yichang section of the Yangtze River, it attracted finless porpoises to migrate and settle.
