Since its release in 2000 as a videotape version produced by director Takashi Shimizu, "The Grudge" has undergone a theatrical version and a Hollywood remake in about 20 years, and has gradually become serialized. The story begins in 1988 with Odawa, a newcomer actor who co-starred with Odajima on a supernatural show, and Yuki Kuroshima (Kuroshima Yuki) mentions strange talk in a conversation about strange phenomena. Meanwhile, a female high school student who had to transfer schools because of some trouble, Shengmei (Ririja), was invited by her classmates to visit an empty house known as the "Cat House". Six years later, social welfare worker Ari-an (Kurako Kanai) decided to take action to save the abused children.
