However, its new name, "Jin Jiang Hotel", became a household name in Shanghai from 1951 onwards, and became famous at home and abroad due to the signing of the Sino-US Joint Communiqué in 1972.
Chinachem Apartment is a traditional Gothic building invested and built by Chinachem Real Estate Company in 1925, with a reinforced concrete frame structure, commonly known as "thirteen floors", with a height of 57 meters and a construction area of 21,202 square meters. The exterior of the apartment is decorated with brown tiles, the checkered steel windows are neatly arranged, and the stone window frames and vertical lines reinforce the effect of "rising from the ground". There are several passenger and freight elevators in the apartment, which is easy to access. The 11-storey imitation British court-style restaurant covers an area of 800 square meters, and the royal classical chandelier is brilliant. Elegant candle-shaped wall lamps, shield-wielding samurai reliefs, rigid and soft.

In 1929, The Chinachem Apartment was completed in the same year as the 77-meter-high Chinachem Hotel on the Bund (also known as the "Sassoon Building", now the North Building of the Peace Hotel), becoming the tallest building in Western Shanghai at that time.

In 1948, the Chinachem apartment was bought by the "legendary woman" Dong Zhujun. In 1950, she merged the Jinjiang Chuan Restaurant and Jinjiang Tea Room she founded and operated into the Jin Jiang Hotel. In June of the following year, jin jiang hotel opened in Chinachem Apartment, and "Chinachem" changed its name and name. In 1959, the Jin Jiang Hotel built a small auditorium. With the construction of the South Building a few years later, Chinachem Apartments gradually became known as the North Building of jin jiang hotels, and the middle building was the Junling Apartment for VIP reception.

There is a very magical and beautiful legend about this house: the owner has a beloved little daughter, she dreamed that she entered a fairyland, woke up and painted it, and the owner asked the architect to design the house accordingly.
In 1859, British Jews were bribed. Mahler independently founded the "Zhao Zhi Foreign Firm" in Shanghai and subsequently became a wealthy merchant in Shanghai Beach. In 1911, the elder Mahler officially retired, and the eldest son, Illik? MAHLE takes over the business. The company gradually gave up the operation and agency trade business, fully developed the shipping industry, once founded MAHLE Machine Building Co., Ltd. in Pudong, with more than 2,000 employees in its heyday, which is the predecessor of today's Shanghai Hudong Shipyard.
In 1922, Illik Mahler purchased land on Yalpe Road (present-day South Shaanxi Road) on the south side of Fuxi Road (present-day Middle Yan'an Road) and built a private residence. His younger brother Lindesa Mahler was an engineer and an architectural enthusiast who was involved in the design of the residence. Mahler's villa in general belongs to the Nordic style of architecture, with many pointed roofs added to the sloped roof, and the pointed roof is opened with "tiger windows" to increase the indoor lighting. Perhaps because the Mahler family started by seafaring, and Lindesay? Mahler himself was a shipbuilding engineer, so the interior decoration added many elements of the mail ship, many porthole-shaped windows, and a large number of marine component patterns such as rudders were used on the ceiling of the escalator. After 1949, Mahler Villa became the seat of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League. In 2002, it was owned by Hengshan Group and is now open to the public as a hotel.
