Zhao Chenfeng is a junior at the College of Fisheries of Zhejiang Ocean University. This summer, he did not go home, from the school marine life herbarium to the aquarium enthusiasts association, to the aquatic dock, he got up early every day, dark, and forgot to eat and sleep.
In the morning, it is time for the docks to concentrate on loading, and as the fishing boats dock, the docks quickly boil up, and tons of fresh catches quickly fill baskets large and small.
This was his busiest and most exciting time, shuttling back and forth between mountains of plastic baskets, carefully searching for traces of creatures mixed in with fresh catches. Such creatures usually do not enter the market, some of them will become raw materials for fishmeal, and the other part will become dock garbage, and what Zhao Chenfeng has to do is to preemptively collect them.
Running the dock is extremely persevering, in addition to getting up early and greedy to pick up the goods, but also to endure a variety of putrid odors on the nasal cavity immersive stimulation.
Once, when collecting fish at the dock, he was also ridiculed by several fishing vendors at the dock: what did he do when he was young and they came to grab business, which made Zhao Chenfeng cry and laugh a little.

For Xiao Zhao, every fish morphological identification is like a practice, observing measurements, looking up literature, making conclusions, shooting... A small fish picked up and put it down, and slipped away in half a day.
When harvesting more, there are more than 10 fish at a time, and sometimes it is very difficult to identify some fish, and there is a conflict between different data, which requires more patience to consult the data, careful comparison, and even get 4 a.m. at the latest. At present, the database has recorded more than 200 species of fish, of which more than 100 species of fish have been collected in Zhoushan. In the following college years, Xiao Zhao said that he would run more of the dock, improve the library to four or five hundred species of fish as much as possible, record the fish that could be seen on the dock as much as possible, and sort out a set of his own conclusions in the study and research.
At the turn of spring and summer last year, Zhao Chenfeng followed a professional research vessel to the relevant sea areas to conduct a survey of clove fish (commonly known as sea slugs in Zhoushan), and in Zhoushan, May and June are the time for fishermen to catch motifs with special certificates. In addition to the sea snip, fishing boats also catch other marine organisms are also very valuable, for scientific research institutions and government departments of fishery resources management, have a certain role, Zhao Chenfeng is very happy to use his knowledge to provide some fish identification convenience help.
Zhao Chenfeng is majoring in aquaculture, at the undergraduate level, aquaculture majors or aquatic majors are not so limited, the professional content is more inclined to the marine resources environment and marine life, and the courses will involve ichthyology. Xiao Zhao wants to continue to do fine work under this branch, the undergraduate does not intend to limit his direction, and all the content of interest wants to touch it.
