Global Times: How to determine the tone of the KMT's speech on major events? Who is on the speaking team?
Ouyang Long: First, we should look at what kind of major news this is, first seek to verify the truth of the facts, and then consider this matter in terms of the KMT's policies and positions, and speak unanimously to the outside world.
The Kuomintang Cultural Communication Committee has a chairman and a vice chairman, and my current position is that of vice chairman and spokesman, and generally with regard to the party's main policies and main axis positions, I have unified my position on the outside world. For example, we have a Taipei City Councilor who is also a spokesperson, and if there is a policy or municipal issue involving Taipei City, it would be more appropriate for him or her to speak.
Global Times: Why do you think the KMT elected you as its spokesperson? What would you do if the TONE of the KMT conflicted with your personal position?
Ouyang Long: I can't speculate more about why I was chosen as a spokesperson. The party is not in power in Taiwan at present, and as a party member, I think it is all right to be able to contribute to the party, or to make some sacrifices or dedication.
Basically, the spokesperson should be the representative party. When I assumed this position, I told all the media that from today onwards, the words I said were no longer those spoken by Ouyang Long personally. It seems to me that the spokesman is to think of himself as a machine to convey very clearly the will of the Party, the Policy of the Party or the Views of the Party. As for the conditions for becoming a spokesperson, I think at least we should speak clearly, think clearly, react quickly, and have a deeper understanding of current affairs and public opinion, so that we can respond accurately.

GLOBAL TIMES: When did you become interested in politics?
Ouyang Long: I joined the Kuomintang from 1997 to 1998. In 1998, I was still working on television. At that time, Taipei elected the head of the street office, known in the mainland as the director of the subdistrict office, and my wife participated in and was elected to serve nearly 6,000 residents of the "li" where we were located. After 4 years, we have some experience in helping the people improve their quality of life by relying on our own strength, and we hope to serve more people, from 5,000 to 6,000 people in Taipei City to 2.7 million people in Taipei City. In 2002, I participated in the Taipei City Council election and was elected smoothly. It can be said that my initial desire for politics began when I was a wife.

Global Times: There are many artists in Taiwan who are engaged in politics. As one of them, what advantages do you think artists have in politics, and what are the less favorable points?
Ouyang Long: I have personal experience with this. As you know, entertainers are more emotional because you're doing something related to art, whether it's singing or acting. And politics requires you to take away your emotions, and you must be very rational. There are many artists and friends who have no way to get rid of sensibility and romance after entering politics, and are often criticized for being emotional, and I think we need to pay attention to this piece. As for our advantage, it is that we have visibility, and soon we can let people recognize who this person is, what to do, and what to choose, but it is also a big project to convert popularity into support.
After having an advantage, we must also take into account the disadvantage, that is, everyone will use a bigger magnifying glass to look at you, because there are many public opinion representatives, everyone may not even be able to call out the name, and we are the names that everyone can call out, so we must be blamed at every turn, and we must redouble our restraints on our behavior and behavior, and clarify the concept of asking politics.
Global Times: As a spokesperson, what is the last question you want to answer? As a father, what are the last questions you want to answer?
Ouyang Long: As a spokesperson, the last thing I want to answer is a question about me personally, because I represent the Kuomintang, and it is difficult to answer personal questions on this platform.
As a father, every time a reporter asks me about my child, I can't hide or escape. You should know that I have 3 daughters who are very interested in acting and are starting to be public figures because of my wife and I. As time went on, they grew older, and their private lives were the last questions I as a father wanted to answer, including emotional or work questions. Although I am their father, I must also respect that they are independent individuals, independent personalities and their interests, so I can't answer on their behalf, because any of my answers seem to pull back the patriarchal era and become me a father, and they have to listen to whatever they say.

Global Times: Last year's "nine-in-one" election you did not achieve five consecutive parliamentarian hegemonies, and some analysts believe that it is related to your daughter's negative news. What do you think about that?
Ouyang Long: The online world is now far-reaching, and everyone is expressing their ideas behind the keyboard. After all, my daughter now has some popularity and has received a lot of criticism along the way, which we think is understandable and acceptable. I often tell my children: If others are right, you must correct them; If someone criticizes you incorrectly or misunderstands you, you should accept it in addition to clarifying, because you are a public figure, a person who can be publicly rated.
Will their news have an impact on my election? I personally don't think so, because I've elected so many times, I wouldn't have been able to get elected if I had been affected by this before. I later analyzed that this time I was not successfully elected for two important reasons. First, the last time the KMT was at its lowest, I actually got the highest number of votes in the Taipei City Council election. In this election, everyone thought that my vote was too high, and they were worried that other comrades would not be elected, so they divided some votes. Many people have passed on a message to me: your vote is enough, there is no problem, so we are going to vote for the more dangerous candidates. In addition, polls for half a year have shown that I am at the top, and the general public, even those who do not know me, think that "that is not OK, it may be dangerous to be in the back." These conditions have been fully fermented, causing many supporters to vote for others, and I got only 1/3 of the votes I received last time. But that's okay, I'm happy to accept it.

Ouyang Long: I have seen this hot search, and the basic position is the same as that of my daughter. I think my daughter is a very ordinary child, I don't think she has anything outstanding, it's just that she is exposed to the music she likes and works hard for it, and that's it. So I suggest that everyone who is a parent should tell their children that it is important that you work in this direction if you have any interest. As for "many girls want to live to be Ouyang Nana", my advice is that "all girls should live to be like themselves".
Global Times: You straddle showbiz and politics, and you are a place that is easy to be tempted. How do you resist temptation and what principles do you have in this regard?
Ouyang Long: I remember a friend who said, "It's easy to enjoy power, it's hard to resist temptation." I put this sentence deeply in my heart. As public figures, we have the responsibility of having a public image, especially after most of our lives, I know what is "yes" and what is "non", and there are some specious things that must be clearly divided, as long as there is a central idea of right and wrong in our hearts, let life, experience, and law become our motto, we can resist temptation. You will feel as if we are tempted a lot, in fact our lives are very old-fashioned and regular, because we have to do it.
