Universal Pictures announced that it will reboot two of DreamWorks' classic animated films, Monsters, and its spin-off, "The Cat in boots," but the reboot will mean that DreamWorks' previously planned "Shrek 5" and "Cat in Boots 2: Nine Lives and Forty Thieves" will be canceled, and the two reboots will be supervised by Chris Meledandri, producer of the "Despicable Me" series.
Details of the current rebooted version of Shrek have not yet been revealed, but the original team of mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz, who played Shrek, Donkey and Princess Fiona, are expected to return to dubbing. In addition, there is no further news about the reboot version of "Cat in Boots".
The series "Shrek" was first released in 2001, and the fourth part was released in 2010, the protagonist is a green monster Shrek who lives in the swamp, from rescuing Princess Fiona, becoming a human, to finding the heir of the kingdom, and finally having a sweet triplet with the princess, and even being framed by elf dwarfs to come to the parallel world and experience various adventures.
