According to Chen Xiuhua, in the past 100 years of development, Lingnan Chen's acupuncture method has had obvious effects in the treatment of insomnia, cervical spondylosis, facial paralysis, polycystic ovary syndrome and other diseases. As early as 1958, his master Chen Xinxin was sent to participate in the Chinese medical expert team in Yemen, which was known locally as the "Oriental Divine Needle". Nowadays, Chen Xiuhua and his team have also passed on the flying needle stunt to five continents, and he has been invited to the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Australia, South Africa and other more than 20 countries and regions to give lectures and demonstrations.
Spread overseas as the "Needle of the Orient"
Chen Xiuhua, director of the Traditional Therapy Center of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is the fourth generation inheritor of Lingnan Chen's acupuncture.
According to Nandu's previous report, since his internship at the university, Chen Xiuhua has studied with Professor Chen Xinxin, the third-generation inheritor of Lingnan Chen's acupuncture method in the acupuncture clinic of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
"At that time, I was amazed by his rapidly rotating flying needle method, and I also admired Elder Chen's diagnosis and treatment ideas and the rigor of clinical treatment." In 2004, Chen Xiuhua was listed as the heir to the academic experience of the "third batch of national old Chinese medicine experts", and officially inherited Chen Xinxin and inherited his Lingnan Chen acupuncture method.
According to Chen Xiuhua, lingnan Chen's acupuncture originated from family traditions, and the first generation of heirs was his master Chen Baoshan, the grandfather of Chen Xinxin, who opened a medical center in Xiguan, Guangzhou during the Qing Dynasty, and became famous in the local area. The second generation of inheritors is Chen Xinxin's father, Chen Jinchang, who inherited his father's business and began to follow up at the age of 8.
Born in 1933, Chen Xinxin was influenced by a family of medicine and studied acupuncture assiduously, and in 1958, Chen Xinxin, who had only been working for 3 years, was assigned to participate in the Chinese medical expert team in Yemen, and was locally known as the "Oriental Divine Needle".
According to Chen Xiuhua, Master Chen Xinxin noticed that the traditional acupuncture operation is complicated, especially when the needle is inserted, the pain is strong, in addition, the doctor holds the needle body into the needle, because the disinfection is not strict, it is easy to cause infection.
After continuous research and practice, Chen Xinxin synthesized a variety of pricking methods and improved and innovated into a new needle feeding method "rapid rotation needle feeding method". That is, the characteristic of lingnan Chen's stitching method today is "flying needle method".
"Painless, sterile, accurate, rapid rotation, instantaneous techniques allow patients to be unaware of the needle has been pierced into the acupuncture point, strong penetration, and the fingers do not directly touch the needle body, avoid pollution, creating a milestone of painless acupuncture." Chen Xiuhua once told Nandu reporters that in addition to the flying needle method, the Lingnan Chen stitch system also contains a graded laxative method and a gas conduction method, a total of three major parts.
In TCM acupuncture, the key to acupuncture is to replenish diarrhea. Different constitutions and diseases, how to make up for diarrhea, how much to make up, how much to diarrhea, is very difficult to quantify clinically. On the basis of inheriting his father's generation, Chen Xinxin proposed standardized graded diarrhea filling methods by using different needle strengths, frequencies and durations.

With more than 100 years of development, Lingnan Chen's acupuncture has become one of the most representative academic schools of Lingnan TCM acupuncture.
Li Ying, secretary of the Lingnan Chen Acupuncture Intangible Cultural Heritage Studio and a traditional therapy doctor at Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, once told Nandu reporters that the studio spent many years systematically exploring and sorting out the academic ideas of Lingnan Chen's acupuncture. At the same time, he carried out clinical teaching, wrote papers and monographs, and inherited the Lingnan Chen acupuncture method in various forms.
At present, Chen Xiuhua's team has promoted lingnan Chen's acupuncture method from multiple levels, including training students and disciples of traditional Chinese medicine colleges and universities, promoting skills and techniques in an all-round way, and inheriting academic schools. The team has also opened non-genetic inheritance bases in Meizhou, Shaoguan and other places.
In November 2015, Lingnan Chen's stitch method was selected into the sixth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage list in Guangdong Province. Recently, the State Council announced the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative project list and the national intangible cultural heritage representative project list extended project list, Lingnan Chen's stitch method has been included in this batch of expanded project list.
