Oriental Network October 26 news: Shanghai version of Shakespeare's classic comedy "Taming" is once again hilariously staged at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center tonight? Drama Salon. This creative version of the play aims to create a wonderful dream city that evokes the memories of old Shanghai, and uses it as a backdrop to present a long battle between men and women.

This edition was directed by the Artistic Director of the British TNT Theatre, Paul Thompson. Premiered at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center in 2010, Sturbin's "Taming" became a hit on the drama stage and a special guest play for the National Centre for the Performing Arts to commemorate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth, and won the Best Performance Award at the 4th Shandong International Small Theatre Drama Festival, as well as a series of praise from the media and audiences: "The Bund Pictorial reviewed "This classic comedy decorated with the old Shanghai factors of the 1930s brings the audience a wonderful dream experience." At the scene of tonight's performance, the audience could not help but sigh: ""The Taming of the Hummer" is definitely a trickster, and the actors do chanting and singing proofing, so that every audience has been satisfied!" ”

One of Shakespeare's most famous comedies, The Taming of the Taming is an exploration of serious themes such as relationships, love and the value of money, with a lively storyline behind a strong Renaissance humanistic care. And here, the story is changed from Padua to Shikumen in Shanghai, Catherina, Petruccio, Bianca, Lusenxiu... These familiar names have also been transformed into the familiar "Pei Chu Qiao, Bai Kaili", etc.; the robe and horse coat replace the suit and dress, and the mahjong card nine enters Shakespeare's theater lobby. In addition, the soundtracks in the play are all live performances, and the traditional Chinese folk music is organically combined with jazz, body mime, traditional Italian improvisational comedy and even Chinese kung fu with the characteristics of the times. In Shanghai, a city characterized by the production of "strict wife management", everyone is invited to enjoy a dream of taming the yellow sorghum of the wife. The play will continue to be staged until November 13, and this year we were specially invited to participate in the 2nd Shanghai International Comedy Festival in 2016 and the 2016 Shanghai International Tang Xianzu Festival. The performances of the Shakespeare Theatre Festival and the 2016 Beijing Comedy Arts Festival bring a different experience to audiences in Beijing and Shanghai.

This round of performances is directed by Wang Haiying. The two key characters in the play, Pei Chuqiao, the "Evil Husband" and Bai Kaili, the "Humble Woman", are played by liu peng/Wang Weishuai and Zhang Zhongyi, the new generation of actors at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, respectively. The two tacitly join hands, and when they meet in the play, they are like Mars hitting the earth, fists and feet against each other, and a war between the two sexes "tamed" and "tamed" is started. The wonderful performances of young actors Huang Chen, Lü You, Zhang Zhen, Wu Zhuqing, Pan Qi, Xu Xinwen and piano accompanist Xu Weizun of the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center also won warm applause from the audience. The actors play many comedic roles: in addition to the tit-for-tat lovers Kate and Petruccio, there are also old men who are obsessed with girls, stupid servants who are clever, lovers who pretend to be Mr. Teachers to win the favor of beauty, fathers who think they can manipulate their daughters, daughters who seem innocent but secretly encourage their lovers, and lovers who once hated each other the most, and now you and me, all of which leave a deep impression on the audience.

Original director Paul once said: "Since Shakespeare said that 'music is the food of love', we have incorporated the music of that era that is both beautiful and chaotic into our plays." Shakespeare knows that love must always make us happy, so we don't forget to give full play to the joy of this play, but we also don't give up the seriousness that lurks under the humor in order to present humor. We are able to laugh and immerse ourselves in the play because we have loved, are loving, or long for love. In any culture and era, everyone is obsessed with love. "I believe that here, everyone can find the shadow of their own love."
