Chen

Chen Ming (1902-1941), with few characters, used the name Chen Ruoxing. Zodiac Sign: Tiger. A native of Longyan City, Fujian Province.

He graduated from Fujian Provincial No. 9 Middle School in 1921, and later taught at Longyan Rural Primary School, Xiamen Jimei Middle School and Zhongshan Middle School, and served as the chief writer of Longyan's "Rock Sound Newspaper".

He joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League in 1924, was admitted to Shanghai University in 1925, and became a member of the Communist Party of China in 1926. He successively served as a propagandist and chief of the intelligence unit of the Political Department of the General Headquarters of the Eastern Road of the Northern Expeditionary Army, the director of the Propaganda Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Department of the Kuomintang and the director of the Fujian Review and the editor-in-chief of the National Daily, the secretary of the Longxi Central County Committee of the CPC, the party commissioner of Fujian Province of the CPC Central Committee, the secretary of the Provisional Special Committee of the CPC Minnan And the Secretary of the Provisional Provincial Party Committee of Fujian (1927).

In July 1928, he was arrested in Zhangzhou for betrayal by traitors and successfully escaped from prison.

In the spring of 1929, he was sent by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to study at the Eastern Laborers' University in Moscow, Soviet Union.

After returning to China in 1931, he went to the Central Soviet Region of Jiangxi Province, where he successively served as chief of the Propaganda Section of the Propaganda Department of the General Political Department of the Red Army (Director Li Zhuoran and Xu Mengqiu) and instructor of the Ruijin Red Army School, instructor of the Cadre Regiment of the Central Military Commission Column, chief of the Training Section, and political commissar (Regiment Leader Chen Geng and Political Commissar Song Renqian), and a high-level cadre section instructor at the Anti-Japanese Red Army University in northern Shaanxi; and participated in the anti-"encirclement and suppression" of the Central Soviet Region and the Long March of the Red Army.

After the outbreak of the National War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he successively served as political commissar (president Wei Guoqing) of the Eighth Route Army Forward Headquarters School, political commissar of the 6th Brigade of the Yan'an Anti-Japanese Military and Political University (captain Wei Guoqing), director of the Propaganda Department of the Political Department of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army (director Luo Ronghuan), director of the Government Work Department and United Front Work Department of the Shandong Branch of the CPC Central Committee, vice president of the Party School of the Branch (President Zhu Rui), senator of the Provisional Senate of Shandong Province (Senator Fan Mingshu), and deputy director and secretary general of the Shandong Provincial Wartime Work Promotion Committee (director Li Yu).

On November 30, 1941, he was martyred in a fierce battle against Japan in the Yimeng Mountains.

In 2014, he was included in the first batch of "List of Famous Anti-Japanese Heroes and Heroes" published by the state.

Wife: Xin Rui (1918-1941), formerly known as Xin Shuhe. Zodiac Sign: Horse. A native of Zhangqiu County, Shandong Province.

In his early years, he was admitted to Jinan Zhengyi Middle School, good at painting and woodcutting, and held a personal art exhibition in Jinan.

In 1938, she and her sister joined the Eighth Route Army with their father (Xin Yezhou) and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year. He successively served as a student of the Party School of the Shandong Branch of the CPC Central Committee, the secretary of the sub-bureau, the secretary of the Women's Federation of the Sub-bureau, the artist of the "Dazhong Daily", the organ newspaper of the sub-bureau, and the head of the "Sister Theater Troupe" of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army.

On December 17, 1941, after being seriously wounded in the anti-"sweeping" operation in Fei County, she was martyred to cover the evacuation of her comrades.

In 2014, she was included in the first batch of "List of Famous Anti-Japanese Heroes and Heroes" published by the state.

Chen Qun (1910-1941), formerly known as Chen De'an. Zodiac Sign: Dog. A native of Lu'an City, Anhui Province.

In 1929, he participated in the Lu'an Peasants' Rebellion, and in 1930 he was incorporated into the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and joined the Communist Party of China.

During the agrarian revolutionary war, he served as a soldier, squad leader, platoon commander, company commander, battalion commander, regimental commander, and deputy division commander of the 11th Division of the Eyu-Anhui Red 4th Army (division commander Zhou Shiyuan and political commissar Chen Xilian), a cadet of the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University in Yan'an; he participated in the anti-"encirclement and suppression" and anti-"siege" in the base areas of Eyu-Anhui and Sichuan-Shaanxi, as well as the Long March of the Red Fourth Front and crossed the snowy mountains and meadows three times.

After the outbreak of the National War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he successively served as the deputy commander of the 34th Brigade of the 12th Detachment of the 4th Column of the Eighth Route Army (Captain Xiao Siming) and the brigade commander (Political Commissar Su Mei), the commander of the 37th Regiment of the Jirecha Advancing Army of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region of the Eighth Route Army (Political Commissar Liu Chengguang), and the commander of the 12th Regiment of the Jidong Military Sub-district of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region (Political Commissar Liu Chengguang).

On June 5, 1941, he was martyred in a battle against Japan in Yutian County, eastern Hebei.

In 2015, he was included in the second batch of "List of Famous Anti-Japanese Heroes and Heroes" published by the state.

Chen Feilong

Chen Feilong (1908-1943), character Shaoping. Zodiac Sign: Monkey. A native of Yueyang City, Hunan Province.

In 1929, he graduated from the 6th Artillery Section of the Whampoa Military Academy. He successively served as platoon commander, company commander, battalion commander and regiment commander of the National Revolutionary Army (Battle of Nanchang), brigade commander of the newly organized 10th Division of the 58th Army of the "Nationalist Army" (the second and third Battles of Changsha, division commander Liu Zhengfu), and acting division commander (commander Sun Du and Lu Daoyuan).

On November 29, 1943, he was martyred in the Battle of Changde, Hunan.

On 2 February 1944, he was posthumously awarded the title of Major General by the Nationalist Government.

Chen Zibin

Chen Zibin (1899-1942). Zodiac Sign: Pig. A native of Shen County, Hebei Province.

In his early years, he studied private school, and later served as the director of the prefectural government clerk and the prefectural smoking cessation (opium) institute.

After the "Lugou Bridge Incident" in 1937, he devoted himself to the anti-Japanese struggle to save his life, and joined the Communist Party of China in 1940. He successively served as deputy commander (commander Duan Haizhou) of the Young Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army in southern Hebei, deputy commander of the 2nd Regiment of the Youth Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Column of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army (regimental commander Zheng Bingyin, political commissar Wu Hongfang), regimental commander, and commander of the 10th regiment of the newly organized 4th Brigade of the 129th Division (political commissar Wu Zongxian).

On April 29, 1942, he was martyred in the anti-"mopping- war" in the southern Hebei District.

Chen Wenbin (1911-1940), also known as Chen Guangjiao. Zodiac Sign: Pig. A native of Chaling County, Hunan Province.

He joined the Communist Party of China in 1930 and was incorporated into the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in the same year.

During the period of the Agrarian Revolutionary War, he served as the captain of the Young Pioneers of the Soviets of the 3rd District of Chaling County, the director of the Organization Department of the Young Communist Party Committee, the clerk of the independent battalion of the county Soviet, the clerk of the Xianggan Military Region's accompanying battalion school, the officer of the Organization Section of the Organization Department of the Political Department of the Red 6Th Army, the political commissar of the 50th Regiment of the 17th Division (Regiment Leader Liu Zhong), the director of the Organization Department of the Political Department of the Corps (Director Zhang Ziyi), the political commissar of the 51st Regiment of the Red 6 Army (Regiment Commander Liu Zhong); and participated in the anti-"encirclement and suppression" in the Xianggan and Xiang'echuanqian base areas and the Long March of the Red 2nd and 6th Armies.

After the outbreak of the National War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he successively served as the commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 717th Regiment of the 359th Brigade of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army (instructor Jiang Yongwei), the political commissar of the Independent Regiment of the 359th Brigade of Shanxi County (Regiment Leader He Qingji), the first political commissar of the 719th Regiment of the newly organized 359th Brigade (Regiment Commander He Qingji), and the political commissar of the 120th Division Jinnan Self-Defense Army (Commander Zhang Zhonghan).

On February 24, 1940, he was shot by Japanese aircraft during the battle in Guangping County, Hebei Province.

Chen Wenqi

Chen Wenqi (1904-1941). Zodiac Sign: Dragon. A native of Putian County, Fujian Province.

In his early years, he studied at Putian Middle School and Xiamen Jimei Normal School, and was admitted to the 5th Engineer Section of the Whampoa Military Academy in 1925. He successively served as the platoon commander of the 3rd Company of the Engineer Battalion of the 22nd Division of the 1st Army of the National Revolutionary Army (Northern Expedition), the company commander, battalion commander, the commander of the 1st Brigade, the commander of the Teaching Brigade, the regimental commander, and the chief of staff of the 27th Division of the newly organized 80th Army of the "Nationalist Army" (Division Commander Wang Jun).

On May 7, 1941, he was martyred in the Battle of Zhongtiao Mountain with division commander Wang Jun and deputy division commander Liang Xixian.

Chen Zhongzhu

Chen Zhongzhu (1906-1941), formerly known as Chen Weirang and Zi Huizhi. Zodiac Sign: Horse. A native of Jianhu County, Jiangsu Province.

In his early years, he was admitted to the Jiangsu Provincial Police Officers' School and the Nanjing Officers' Research Class, and graduated from the 6th Phase of the Whampoa Military Academy in 1929. He successively served as an alternate official of the Jiangsu Provincial Government of the Republic of China, a military instructor at the National Central University in Nanjing, an official of the Beining Railway (Tianjin) and the Jinpu Railway (Jiangsu), the commander of the 3rd General Regiment of the Field Special Regiment of the Military Commission of the National Government (the Battle of Taierzhuang), and the commander of the 4th Column of the Lusu-Anhui Border Region Guerrilla General Headquarters of the National Revolutionary Army.

Chen Zhongzhu and his wife Wang Zhifang

In early June 1941, he was martyred in a battle against Japan in Tai County, Jiangsu Province.

After Chen Zhongzhu was martyred, the Japanese cut off and took his head. After his wife Wang Zhifang saw Chen Zhongzhu's headless corpse, she was pregnant with Liujia and took her daughter to break into the Japanese army headquarters in Tai County and asked for her husband's head.
