Yu Hai, a famous military conductor, was the leader of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Military Band. An unusual life experience

In 1978, Yu Hai was given a precious opportunity, and the leaders of the regiment arranged for him to change to a commanding school, and from then on he began an unusual life experience. At the National Day celebration in 1984, Yu Hai served as the sub-conductor of the Joint Military Band. In the following ten years, Yu Hai grew from a sub-conductor to the chief conductor of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Military Band.
Problems in the sea are quickly resolved
In 1999, the 50th anniversary of the founding of New China. In order to prepare for this military parade, the military band began training six months in advance. After a rehearsal, he received an opinion. Colleagues solemnly forwarded to him three letters, which reflected that there was a problem with the rhythm of the military band.
Yu Hai strictly followed the requirements of 116 beats per minute for the military band, and he believed that if the rhythm was not right, the parade troops would have already had problems marching. Since the band plays so strictly to the beat, why do the troops under review reflect the speed of the music?
Yu Hai raised a key question, the sound transmission is three hundred and forty meters per second, and when the parade troops walk closer and closer to the military band from the east to Tiananmen Square, they will feel that the performance is getting faster and faster; the parade troops will feel that the performance is getting slower and slower when they leave Tiananmen Square and go west, which is a problem of sound transmission.
Solving this problem, the cooperation between the troops under review and the military band has become smoother and smoother. However, just as the National Day celebrations approached, a more serious problem arose. This time, some people said that there was a problem with the national flag and the national anthem.
Yu Hai repeatedly reviewed the video of the scene, explored the environment of Tiananmen Square on the spot, repeatedly checked, and looked for the crux of the problem. He inadvertently discovered that it was the flag raiser who had delayed a small movement. At the moment when the national anthem was played, the flag raiser did not press the electric button synchronously, but turned his head and pressed the button again, and this turn of the head was delayed by about half a second.
After retirement, he still has a heart for the military band
Yu Hai retired in 2018, and although he left the podium of the National Day Parade Military Band, he continued to contribute to the National Day celebration in other ways. Prior to the National Day in 2019, Yu Hai had been serving as an artistic director for the choir and had come to the training base many times to guide the training of the orchestra and the choir. Yu Hai said the best moments of his life took place in Tiananmen Square.
