In Barcelona's 3-3 draw away to Celta Vigo, new head coach Xavi showed off their strong and weak teams, taking a 3-0 lead in the first half but giving up the score in the second half. The returning Barca legend returned to the country only a few hours ago and therefore did not start coaching his first match until after international match day, against espanyol's city derby, but his performances improved markedly.

It took Fati just five minutes to give Barca a lead on the Galician coast. The teenager cut in from a narrow angle on the left side of the penalty area and fired the ball into the corner of the net. Sergio Busquets doubled the lead with a restrained shot from the edge of the penalty area, his first Barca goal in nearly two years. The third goal seemed to leave Celta out of control of the game. That's because Jody Alba broke through from the left in the 34th minute and his cross provided him with a second assist when Memphis Depay stood up, without any defense, and headed the ball into the net.

Celta got much better after half-time, scoring the ball into the net a total of five times in the second half. The situation could be worse for Barcelona, but there are actually only three valid goals. One of them was ruled out by offside, while Nolito scored for handball. But Iaeagu Aspars initially pulled a goal back for the hosts, and Nolito scored 3-2 to play a tense stage in the final 20 minutes. Celta even thought they deserved a penalty at some stage.

Barca repelled one attack after another and it looked like they had done enough to get the win and all three points, but in stoppage time they were finally scored by a goal and Aspass equalised with a deadlock in the 95th minute to become Celta's hero.
