In one year, Wang Meng's identity has changed three times, and today he was officially appointed as the head of the coaching team of the speed skating and short track speed skating national teams, and officially came to the foreground.
On May 24, 2018, the General Office of the General Administration of Sport issued the Notice of the General Office of the General Administration of Sport on the Training of the "Olympic Express Plan" Speed Skating National Training Team", and Wang Meng became the head coach of the national training team, and 60 team members were mostly from roller skating, cycling and other sports. This training team adopts the interactive selection mechanism of "discovery at any time, test at any time, replenish at any time, and eliminate at any time", and selects outstanding people to go to the Netherlands for 3 months of overseas training through testing.
On May 28 last year, on the first day of the speed skating national training team in Changping, Gou Zhongwen, director of the State General Administration of Sports, personally inspected it, which showed the importance attached to this team. In February this year, Wang Meng led the team to participate in the Winter Games in Russia, which was the first time she led the team to participate in a large-scale multi-sport event. The Winter Games produced a total of 8 gold medals in short track speed skating, the South Korean team took 5 gold, and the Chinese team won a gold medal in the men's 1500 meters by An Kai.
On April 9, 2019, at the "fixed point" work conference of the national speed skating project held by the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport, Wang Meng was appointed as the head of the coaching team of the national speed skating training team, and she divided the team into three echelons: youth group, development group and championship group, each group has three teams of short distance, all-around and collective departure.
On April 20 this year, the inaugural meeting of the new speed skating national training team was held in Wanning, Hainan, in addition to the head of the coaching team, Wang Mao, the former short track speed skating national team coach Xin Qingshan and Yi Min Outshan served as consultants. The training team has nearly 50 coaches and 140 team members, including Pyeongchang Winter Olympic bronze medalist Gao Tingyu, Olympic champion Zhou Yang, STT Winter Games champions An Kai, Guo Yihan and other famous players.

On May 6, Hong Ping, deputy director of the Winter Games Center, and Li Yan, chairman of the Chinese Skating Association, rushed to Wanning, Hainan Province, to visit the athletes, coaches and work teams training there. "Since the establishment of the team, under the leadership of team leader Wang Meng, I feel that each group can be effectively adjusted in place and orderly." Li Yan fully affirmed Wang Meng's training team.
Today, the Winter Games Center decided to form a national team for speed skating and short track speed skating at the "fixed point" work conference for the preparation of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, with Wang Meng as the head of the coaching team, and she was officially pushed to the front line of preparation for the Beijing Winter Olympics.
This big national team is responsible for unified management by the Winter Games Center, and Wang Meng, who is the head of the coaching team, said that this adjustment of the management system is in a certain sense a return to the original intention of the predecessors who are full of glory for the country, and the national team must resolutely implement the 5-point requirements put forward by the party group of the General Bureau for the preparation of the new season.
According to the arrangement of the Winter Games Center, the newly established national team will go to the field for a 3-week training camp.
