red hat enterprise linux 7.0 是 red hat 的下一代作業系統完整套件，旨在用于關鍵任務企業級計算以及頂級企業級軟體和硬體零售商認證。

red hat enterprise linux 7.0 中包含的 apache http 伺服器版本 2.4（httpd）包含下列新功能：

“事件”處理子產品的加強版，提高了異步請求程序和性能；

mod_proxy 子產品中固有的 fastcgi 支援；

使用 lua 語言支援内嵌的腳本。

red hat enterprise linux 7.0 中 mysql 的預設實施是 mariadb。mariadb 是由社群人員開發的 mysql 資料庫項目，并提供 mysql 的替代品。mariadb 保留了與 mysql 的 api 和 abi 相容性，并添加了一些新功能。例如：未阻斷的用戶端 api 庫，有加強性能的 aria 和 xtradb 存儲引擎，更優的伺服器狀态變量或者改進的複制功能。

postgresql 是一個進階對象關系資料庫管理系統（dbms）。postgresql 軟體包包括 postgresql 伺服器軟體包及通路 postgresql dbms 伺服器所需用戶端程式和庫。red hat enterprise linux 7.0 提供 postgresql 版本 9.2.有關新功能、bug 修複以及與 red hat enterprise linux 6 提供的版本 8.4 之間可能的不相容性清單，請參考 upstream 發行注記：
