【RMAN】RMAN-20020: DATABASE INCARNATION NOT SET

rman backup or delete obsolete fails with<b> rman-20020: database incarnation not set</b>

<b>使用rman備份或者删除舊的檔案的時候報如下錯誤：</b>

rman-00571: 

rman-03015: error occurred in stored script. abc

rman-03002: failure of delete command at 09/15/2010 04:05:41

rman-06004: oracle error from recovery catalog database: 

rman-20020: database incarnation not set

如果受影響的資料庫版本&gt;= 10.2.0.4,11.1.0.7,11.2.0.1 

<b>說明有多個資料庫在使用catalog 資料庫 (10g ,9i and 11g)</b>

<b>原因：</b><b>bug 造成的：</b>

bug 9873162 --&gt; closed as duplicate of bug 9577583 --&gt; closed as duplicate of base bug &lt;&lt;9577583&gt;&gt;

<b>abstract: rman backup fails with rman-20020: database incarnation not set</b>

fixed :-: 12.1

解決方法：

download and apply one off patch using the following link patch 9577583

the patch needs to be applied to the oracle home  where the catalog database resides.
