I Got Over My Fear

I was always very shy. When my teachers asked me to stand in from of my classmates to give a speech, I was very afraid and dared not face them. Last week, my English teacher gave every student a task to make a performance about short English story. I was in a group with two other classmates. We practised many times and they always inspired me. Though the show was not perfect enough, I got over my fear. It was an important step for me. I gained confidence and had the faith to become stronger.

The Relay Race

Every year in October, our school has the tradition of holding a sports meeting. It is the biggest event of the year, so all the students will practise very hard in order to win the biggest honour. The relay race is the most important match, because it involves so many students taking part in, showing the unity of a team. Last year, our class won the second place. We lagged behind the champion only just a little distance, so we hoped to defeat them this time and win the first prize. We practised very hard, and every student in the team wanted to make the breakthrough. When the match finally began, we ran very fast and had a measured and steady pace. Even though other teams tried to disturb us, we focused our attention. The moment when our team first crossed the line, we cheered and cried. We made it.

An Exciting Football Match

Yesterday, Class One and Class Two had a football match. Both the two teams were very strong. Class One got the first goal in a few minutes. Class Two began to attack. They both played hard. Class Two also got a goal. The score was 1:1. Soon it was half-time. The second half of the match was very exciting. At first, no class scored. Time passed quickly. There were only two minutes. Suddenly a player of Class Two got the ball and kicked his ball just over the goalkeeper's head. Class Two scored another goal. In the end, Class Two won the game. The students of Class Two cheered. How exciting the match was!

The English Corner

This afternoon i went to the school English Corner with my friends. There were a lot of students there. And English teacher, Joan, was there, too. She is American. She told us the rules of the English Corner: No Chinese. Then she asked us to sit a circle and play games. "We are going to talk about fruit. He or she should sing a song if he or she makes a mistake." We said it one by one. And nobody made amistake. We all enjoyed that. It's a good place to pracitse our English and we will come here next time.

An Interesting Class

Recently, we have a new class-DIY. It is an interesting class because we can do many things that we like. It can also practise our imagination. We bring some used white paper, waster newspapers and boxes to the class. Then our teacher will show us how to make things with the paper, newspapers and boxes. We will make beautiful flowers, nice butterflies and so on. We all enjoyed the class.

Our School Arts Festival

To help us learn English better, there is an art festival in our school every year. But i think the art festival last Saturday was the most excellent. It was held in our school hall. A lot of students and teachers took part in it. The festival began with our headmaster's speech. Then the students of Grade Six danced to the music of Tongnian. The students of Class One Grade Four performed a play Snow White. And some students played talk shows. They played and danced happily. Some of our teachers also played on the stage. Mr.Wang played a piece of Peking Opera in English. That was very good. I liked it most. The whole festival was wonderful. We had a good time.

Mr. White Was Late

Mr. White is our English teacher. He was never late for his class. But last Friday he didn't come when the bell rang. About five minutes later, he came into the classroom slowly, with a smile on his face. Some students were very angry and said," Mr. White, you are late!" Mr. White said "Sorry!" and he wrote "THE TEACHER IS LATE!" on the blackboard. Then he asked us, "Is being late a good habit?" All of us said loudly, "No, of course not!" Mr. White said, "Since it is not a good habit, let's give it up together." At that moment, all of us understand that Mr. White wanted to tell us not to be late for class. It was not a good habit. From then on, none of us was late for English class.

An Interesting Lesson

This is a P.E. lesson. We are on the playground. We are playing a game called The Eagle Catches the Chicks. Amy plays the role of an eagle now. Mary is "the old hen." We are "chicks". I'm standing in the end. To make the game more difficult, Amy is blindfolded. We shout at Amy. She is opening her arms and trying to catch us. She fails. Suddenly, Amy catches my clothes but i run away quickly. Amy fails again. We go on playing the game. We run, shout and laugh. We are so happy. What an interesting lesson!
