增強程式員英語口語總結：一個頂一百個單詞get學習

先給大家舉個簡單的例子。 比如說，大家想表達這麼一個意思： 小兒子繼承了她所有的财産。

通常情況下，這句話會被翻譯成下面這個樣子：   Her youngest son inherited all her property. 如果你恰巧知道 inherit 這個詞，也熟悉 property 這個詞， OK ，問題解決了。但很不幸的是，你是跟着Robbin 老師學的， Robbin 老師的詞彙表裡沒有inherit 這個詞，隻有 property ，怎麼辦？你會不會大罵 Robbin 老師是個騙子？那我告訴你，我不但能教你把這個意思表達出來，還能教你變着花樣地把這句話表達出來！ 根據我的教學，這句話至少有以下四種表達方式： Her youngest son got all her property.   She gave all the property to her youngest son.   All her property goes to her youngest son.   最後一句是教給那些連 property 都背不下來的： She gave her youngest son all she had.   怎麼樣？清楚不？好懂不？道地不？簡單不？ 這幾句話隻是看上去簡單，真要脫口而出，就沒那麼容易了。這四句話恰恰代表了我下面要教給大家的四個表達技巧，四個讓你能用1368 個單詞說一口流利英語的技巧：

Skill One 挑個大的

Skill Two 揀實心的

Skill Three 捏軟乎的

有人說了，怎麼聽上去像在菜市場上買菜啊？嗯，我就是要用這種生活化的語言，告訴大家英語真的沒那麼神秘，說英語就跟種瓜買菜一個道理。  

以前面那個例子來說，get就是inherit的上義詞，inherit就是get的下義詞，get是大詞，inherit是小詞。它們的差別就在于，大詞可以代替小詞使用，而小詞卻不可以逆向代替大詞。 既然我們管get叫大詞，那它到底“大”在哪裡呢？它“大”就“大”在除 了剛才說的inherit之外，還可以代替很多很多的小詞，請看下面的例子。

  I get a lot of E-mails every day. 我每天都收到很多郵件。（代替 receive ）   The policeman finally got him. 警察最終抓住了他。（代替 catch ）   I'll get the doctor. 我去叫醫生。（代替 call ）   Let's get some fresh air. 讓我們呼吸一下新鮮空氣。（代替 breathe ）   She gets$19 an hour. 她一小時掙 19 美元。（代替 earn ）   He didn't get the joke. 他沒聽懂這個笑話。（代替 understand ）   We need to get the four-twenty bus if were going to be there by six. 要想六點鐘到的話，我們得搭乘四點二十的那班公共汽車。（代替ride）   Can you get the phone, please ？ I'm making dinner. 請接下電話好嗎，我在做飯。（代替 answer ）   I'm going to get you for that, you little brat ！ 我要為此懲罰你，小搗蛋！（代替 punish ）   That stupid dog tried to get me. 那條蠢狗試圖襲擊我。（代替 attack ）   I'll get dinner if you get the movie. 你要是請看電影的話我就請吃晚飯。（代替 treat ）   What time will we get there? 我們到那兒得幾點了？（代替 arrive ） 以上代替的小詞多嗎？不多，隻有 12 個， get 還可以代替下面的詞 （不再給例句）： persuade, convince, induce, influence, sway, entice, coax, incite, impel, wheedle, manage, fix, succeed, arrange, contrive, wangle, annoy, upset, anger, bother, disturb, trouble, bug, irritate, aggravate, gall, madden, exasperate, nettle, vex, irk, rile, pique, buy, obtain, gain, acquire, win, land, score, achieve, net, secure, attain, reap, glean, procure, collect, net, realize, gross, reap, fetch, bring, collect, prepare, cook, follow, notice, appreciate, perceive, grasp, comprehend, fathom, develop, contract, experience, sustain, undergo, grab, capture, trap, seize, nail, collar, nab, apprehend, contact, reach, puzzle, confuse, baffle, bewilder, confound, perplex, mystify, stump, beat, flummox, nonplus, touch, affect, excite, stir, stimulate, arouse. 再加上上面的算多嗎？也不多，一共才 108 個。
