羊易地熱電站是大陸海拔最高的地熱電站，從2018年9月29日投運至今，累計運作小時數達3.5萬小時，累計發電突破5億千瓦時。地熱能是一種儲量豐富、分布較廣、穩定可靠的可再生清潔能源，在大陸以西藏蘊含量最為豐富。

羊易地熱電站，采用新技術，通過“隻取熱不取水”模式，讓發電尾水實作100%回灌循環再利用。根據測算，這座地熱電站每年實作減排二氧化碳42萬噸、氮氧化合物6200噸、二氧化硫1.2萬噸，節省标煤11.6萬噸。

目前，羊易地熱電站二期16兆瓦項目已進入可研報告編制階段，計劃投資4.8億元，并規劃在取暖、蔬菜溫室、醫療和康養方面展開應用。
