第27屆聯合國氣候變化年會，也被稱為 "締約方會議"（COP 27），已于11月6日在埃及沙姆沙伊赫啟動。會議将持續到11月18日。今年是《聯合國氣候變化架構公約》通過的30周年紀念日。在這三十年裡，應對氣候變化的鬥争取得了不少進展，但實作聯合國的可持續發展目标依然任重道遠。今年的COP 27重點關注幾個關鍵領域，包括糧食安全、氣候和發展的創新融資以及水安全。
締約方會議 - COP 27
The 27th annual UN Climate Change Conference, also known as “Conference of the Parties” (COP 27), has launched on the 6th of November in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The conference will last until the 18th of November. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In these thirty years, progress has been made in the fight against climate change, but much work remains to be done. This year COP 27 focuses on several key areas, including food security, innovative financing for climate and development, and water security.

Climate change is a global problem requiring global responses. Fighting climate change and protecting our environment and its biodiversity is of paramount importance to all sectors of our societies. Initiatives such as the COP 27 are key occasions to advance high-level coordination and collaboration between countries on sustainability topics. It is also for that reason that Belgium has always shown support to environment-focused multilateral initiatives and such as the Green Deal of the European Union and the Paris Agreement of the United Nations. Belgium is also a founding member of the Blue Leaders Initiative, which aims to grant a protected status to 30% of the ocean's surface by 2030.
然而，我們不能僅僅依靠這些高層倡議來推動變革。我們每一個人都有能力和責任在自己的能力範圍内為一個更可持續的世界作出貢獻。在比利時駐華大使館，我們也努力以不同的方式為這一運動作出貢獻。例如，我們的大使館有 "服務自行車"，專門提供給我們的從業人員，以鼓勵他們盡可能地騎自行車而不是開機動車。當然，在大使館，我們也嚴格遵守當地的回收規則，并制定了内部措施，以盡量減少能源消耗。在這一背景下，可持續性也成為了我們正在進行的新使館大樓建設的首要考慮因素之一。建立築将采用三層玻璃，提供更好的隔熱效果，新樓的大窗戶在冬季會利于收集太陽的熱量。除此之外新使館有覆寫着植被的綠色屋頂和70多塊太陽能電池闆。在施工過程中，我們也使用了從舊樓回收的磚塊，以盡量減少資源的浪費。
However, we can not only count on these high-level initiatives to push for change. Each and every one of us has the ability and responsibility to contribute to a more sustainable world in their own capacity. At the Embassy of Belgium in China we also try to contribute to this movement in as many ways as possible. It is for that reason that our Embassy has “service bikes”, specifically provided to encourage our staff to take the bike instead of motorized vehicles whenever possible. Naturally, at the Embassy we also strictly follow the local recycling recommendations and have measures in place to minimize energy consumption. It is also within this context that sustainability was put at the forefront of the ongoing construction of our new Embassy building. The new building will have triple glazing which provides better insulation, large windows to capture as much warmth as possible from the sun in winter, a green roof covered in vegetation, and more than 70 solar panels. During the construction, recycled bricks from our old building are used to minimize wasted resources.
像締約方會議這樣的大型環境活動對于推動應對氣候變化的政策和合作非常重要，但我們也不應該忘記我們每個人的責任。
Large scale environmental events such as the COP 27 are vital to push forward policy and cooperation in the fight against climate change, but we should not forget our individual responsibility as well.
