在考博英語初試筆試中，主謂一緻這個文法基本上是必考内容，最常出現在選擇題，完形，翻譯，和作文中。在選擇題和完形中出現時，主要是着重單獨考該文法。而在翻譯和作文時主謂一緻則是将句子寫正确的前提。

1. 不定式短語、動詞ing形式或名詞性從句作主語，謂語動詞用單數形式。例如：
Sleeping eight hours a day is good at heath.(動詞ing 形式作主語)
每天睡八小時對身體健康有好處。
To be working all day long is a bore.整天幹活使人厭倦。(不定式短語作主語)
Why we decided to put off the match is that the weather was too terrible. (主語從句作主語)
我們決定推遲比賽的原因是天氣太糟糕了。

2. “名詞或代詞+由with、together with、along with、as well as、besides、but、except、including、 in addition to、 like、no less than、 rather than等引起的短語”作主語時，謂語動詞與前面的名詞或代詞的數一緻，也就是我們常說的“就遠原則”。例如：
Dr. Smith, together with his wife and daughters, is going to visit Beijing this summer.
史密斯博士今年夏天将帶着妻子和女兒去北京。
On the contrary, I think it is Truman, rather than you, is to blame.
正相反，我認為該受責備的是杜魯門，而不是你。
3. 不定代詞one、no one、the other、another、 anyone、 anybody、 someone、 somebody 、everyone、 everybody、 nobody、 anything、 something、 everything、 nothing 、each 、either 以及被each、 either 修飾的名詞作主語，盡管有些表示複數意義，但是它們的謂語應該用單數形式。例如：
Every boy and girl in the area was invited.
這個地區的每個男孩和女孩都被邀請了。
Fortunately, nobody was around so nobody was hurt, but that happened without warning. 所幸沒有人在場,是以沒有人受傷,但它是在沒有任何警報的情況下發生的。
4. “more than one/many a +單數名詞”作主語時，謂語動詞用單數形式。例如：
Many a writer of newspaper articles has turned to writing novels.
許多寫報紙文章的作家轉而寫小說。
More than one person was absent.

不止一個人缺席。
5. “分數(百分數)+of+名詞”以及“all (most some any half a lot part the rest)+of+名詞”作主語時，謂語動詞的數與of後的名詞的數一緻。如：
Four-fifths of people on the Net believe China’s economy is among the strongest in the world. 五分之四的網民認為中國經濟是世界上最強大的經濟體之一。
The rest of the magazines were sold out within half an hour.
其餘的雜志在半小時内就賣光了。
6. “a number of +複數名詞”意為“許多”，作主語時，謂語動詞用複數;“the number of+複數名詞” 意為“......的數目”，作主語時，謂語動詞用單數。
A number of boys are singing songs.
許多男孩在唱歌。
The number of students is getting larger and larger.
學生的數量越來越多。
7. “a+單數名詞+and a half ”和“one and a half+複數名詞”作主語，謂語動詞用單數形式。
例如: A month and a half has passed.
一個半月時間過去了。
