No holiday would be complete without its signature food. Thanksgiving has Turkey and Chinese New Year has dumplings and more. So too, Dragon Boat Festival has a rich tradition of music, boat racing and delicious snacks. Called zongzi in China, or sticky rice dumplings, the outside is wrapped in large flat leaves covering a rice filled interior.

Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated in China and by the Chinese Diaspora around the world. In San Francisco and elsewhere teams meet up to compete in these ancient races. And sure to be found around the world is delicious piping-hot zongzi. The bamboo or reed leaf cradle the glutinous rice, which gives it a signature smell and taste.
