Fan Zeng, born in 1938 in Nantong, Jiangsu, is a master of Chinese painting and calligraphy, a famous Chinese scholar and poet. He is currently a chair professor at Peking University, dean of the Academy of Chinese Painting, an honorary doctor of literature from the University of Glasgow and the University of Alberta, Canada, a doctoral supervisor and tenured researcher at the Chinese Academy of Arts, a tenured professor at Nankai University, a doctoral supervisor at the School of Literature and History of Nankai University, a tenured professor at Nantong University, and the dean of Jishan Academy and Panshan Academy. In 2008, he was awarded the Gold Medal of the French Citizen Star. In 2009, he was appointed by UNESCO as a Special Adviser on Multiculturalism. Mr. Fan Zeng was born in a famous cultural family of 13 generations of poets in China for 450 years.
