Chang Yu, 40, is a native of Lintao County, Gansu Province. In 2002, Chang Yu, who was 20 years old at the time, married Chang Yuan (pseudonym), a farmer who was 9 years older than him, and the two married according to local folk customs. In 2003, the two obtained a replacement marriage license.

After marriage, the two lived in Kangle County and had a general relationship. Both were illiterate and worked as farmers at home, earning an annual income of about 50,000 yuan. In 2004, the couple's first daughter was born. In 2010, Chang Yu gave birth to her second daughter.

According to Chang Yu's later statement, her husband often committed domestic violence against him. After giving birth to two daughters, the husband's attitude was even worse, and the beatings continued unabated.

According to Chang Yu's complaint, in April 2019, Chang Yuan returned home after drinking, beat himself, causing multiple injuries such as his crotch, and was pushed out of the door.

In March 2021, Chang Yu, who finally couldn't stand it, filed a lawsuit with the court and asked for a divorce. On April 26 of the same year, after a court judgment, the two parties were not allowed to divorce.

After the verdict, the two sides did not reconcile and have been living separately.

Chang Yu again filed a lawsuit with the Kangle County People's Court in Gansu Province, asking to raise her two daughters alone, but her husband had to pay 100,000 yuan in maintenance. On January 5, 2022, the court opened the case.

This time, Chang Yuan did not file a written defense, but agreed to divorce Chang Yu, but asked to raise two children, and the maintenance fee was at his own expense.

On February 28, the Kangle County People's Court found that the two daughters were living with their mother and that Chang Yu had undergone sterilization.

During their life together, they quarreled many times over trivial matters, resulting in a fight.

After the conflict between the two parties occurred in May 2020, Chang Yu went out, and after the court ruled that the divorce was not allowed, the two parties also failed to live together. At present, the relationship between husband and wife has indeed broken down, and there is no hope of reconciliation.

The court then ruled that the two divorced. The eldest daughter is raised by Chang Yuan, and the second daughter is raised by Chang Yu, and both parties pay their own maintenance fees. When one party requests to visit the child, the other party should cooperate.
