Crime and Punishment Author - Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, Russian, born on November 11, 1821, suffered from epilepsy and accompanied him throughout his life.

1834 - He attends secondary school in Moscow.

1937 - Mom dies of tuberculosis and he and his brother are sent to the Petersburg Military Engineering School.

1939 - His father, who was a doctor in Moscow, dies of unknown cause.

1840 - Meet Nekrasov.

1842 - He is appointed lieutenant and a year later graduates from the Military Engineering School.

1844 - After retiring from the army, he began his writing career.

1846 - The Poor Man is serialized, to great acclaim, and officially published a year later.

Dostoevsky became a literary figure at the age of 24.

1849 - Arrested for revolutionary activities against the Tsar and executed. The sentence was commuted to exile in Siberia before the execution.

1854 - Released, but required to serve in Siberia.

1858 - Promoted to second lieutenant.

The decade from the fake execution to the time he served his sentence in Siberia was an important turning point in his life, and he began to reflect on himself and believe in religion.

1860 - Returning to Petersburg, the following year publishing his first novel, The Insulted and the Damaged, can be seen as an overhaul of his pre- and post-period works, both early depictions of socially suffering people and later discussions of religion and philosophy.

1864 - The death of his first wife and brother and the need to take care of his brother's family leave him on the verge of bankruptcy, with a lot of debt and depression.

In order to avoid creditors, he was forced to go to Europe, and the publisher promised to give him an advance payment and asked him to write a novel.

1866 - The novel Crime and Punishment is published.

1868 - The Idiot.

1872 - The Devil.

1880 - The Brothers Calamazo, his last work.

1881 - Preparing to write the second part of The Brothers calamazo, on February 9, while writing, the pen barrel fell to the ground and rolled under the cabinet, and he moved the cabinet too hard, causing the blood vessel to rupture, died the same day, and was buried in St. Petersburg.
