Due to the complex terrain of the Sino-Vietnamese border and the lush vegetation of the mountains, the Vietnamese army could not resist our army and drilled caves, or disguised as civilians and hid. After the large troops of our army have passed, they will ambush the logistics support personnel of our army. Militias and former migrant workers have been targeted. Many militia logistics teams suffered losses, but some militiamen exploded in combat effectiveness and beat the Vietnamese agents who sneaked in. A militia of more than 70 people in Shanxu Commune (now Shanxu Town), Fusui County, Guangxi, under the command of militia company commander Huang Shiqing, defeated the regular army of a company of the Vietnamese army with more than a dozen rifles. 12 people were killed, 6 were wounded, and none of the militia suffered casualties.
Participating militias
On the afternoon of February 17, 1979, on a mountain trail southeast of the city of Lu Binh County, Vietnam, Huang Shiqingzheng led the militia company of Shanwei Commune to carry out a mission in the front. Before leaving, the superior informed Huang Shiqing of the enemy situation, and there were Vietnamese agents on the road. Along the way, they were cautious and careful, and a group of sharp soldiers was arranged in front.

After a while, Wang Qianbao of the sharp soldier group rushed to report: just now he found a Vietnamese soldier running outside the village, shouting that he would stop and not listen, so he fired a shot, but he did not hit it, and had already run to the back of the small dirt bag outside the village.
"Company commander, this must be a Vietnamese straggler, let's go and catch a living one." Liao Chaolu, the impatient platoon leader, rolled up his sleeves. The militia sent ammunition

Liao Chaolu jumped up and ran out of the village. "Come back!" Huang Shiqing shouted loudly.
Just as the enemy came out to surrender, Huang Shiqing discovered the mystery. Just now shouted him to stand, and also shot a shot, do not stop, why now a shout out? When he saw Liao Chaolu squatting on the ground and sulking, he said: The enemy has surrendered to us, and the command is in our hands, so we can call him over! As soon as Liao Chaolu heard the reason, he immediately shouted in Vietnamese and signaled with his hand that the Vietnamese soldiers should come over. It was strange that the Vietnamese soldier just couldn't come, as if he couldn't understand the shouting.
At this time, a militiaman returning from the bamboo forest reported that there were many Vietnamese hats (Vietnamese cool helmets) shaking behind the highlands and hill bags. Liao Chaolu suddenly realized, and slapped his head with his hand: "How stupid! Huang Shiqing smiled meaningfully at him. Company commander, you really can! Liao Chaolu was convinced. Huang Shiqing immediately ordered Liao Chaolu to withdraw the team to the village. Want to fight hard? Don't you want to evacuate quickly? After all, Liao Chaolu was a militia platoon leader who had no formal military training; he felt very faceless when he was reprimanded, and just when he wanted to refute it, he suddenly remembered one thing a few days ago: The militia company returned to the garrison for dinner after delivering ammunition to the troops, and suddenly, about two hundred meters behind, several shells fell, and the explosion of "boom, boom" sounded. Shouting with the company commander for everyone to retreat, the militiamen all hid behind the wall in the corner of the house, ignoring the Vietnamese machine gun fire.
Huang Shiqing, who had been a soldier, discerned from the firepower of the Vietnamese army that the enemy's weapon was the equipment of a regular army formation platoon. The militia company he brought with him only had a dozen Type 56 semi-automatic rifles, and if they fought hard, they would be self-inflicted. Hiding in the village, the enemy will naturally attack, and the militia will change from disadvantage to advantage.
The Vietnamese machine-gun fire for a while, seeing that the militia did not return fire, thought that the militia was afraid, and sent a platoon of troops into the village. When they approached the village, they saw that the village still did not move, and their courage grew, and they stood up straight one by one and marched forward with guns. One of them shouted in stiff Chinese with a pistol: "Surrender your gun and don't kill!" When the enemy was only 40 meters away from the village, Huang Shiqing shouted: "Fight! "A dozen rifles opened fire almost simultaneously. On the spot, 4 people were killed and 3 were injured, and the rest were not good at sight, and immediately crawled back with a running belt.
The Vietnamese machine guns and small cannons mounted on the hill were aimed at the village again. Huang Shiqing did not have the slightest joy, he thought: how to take the team out as soon as possible, find a large unit of our army to carry out the transportation task; close to the Lord and strive for protection. At this time, it was reported that the enemy was moving from the horseshoe-shaped highlands to the sides in an attempt to encircle the village. Huang Shiqing ordered a platoon leader, Lin Hongchun and Liao Chaolu: You each take a combat group to the back of the village immediately, ready to cover the retreat of the whole company.
When Lin Hongchun arrived at the back of the village, he found that two Vietnamese troops had rushed to their front and were ready to block the way out. Lin Hongchun shot accurately, and almost all of his pre-war targets were excellent. At this time, he took advantage of the opportunity to shoot, he first aimed a shot at the enemy on the right side of the village entrance, because he shot during the run, he did not shoot. The enemy ran to the left. Just as Liao Chaolu came running over to face-to-face, Liao Chaolu, who was full of beards and beards, frightened the young Vietnamese soldiers, and Liao Chaolu shot the enemy. Another Vietnamese creep, seeing his companion's blood flowing all over his body, fell to the ground, did not care to shoot, turned around and ran. Veteran Lin Hongchun took the gun in a posture and shot it, and the enemy in the running body stood up and fell straight to the ground. Huang Shiqing hurriedly beckoned the team to quickly rush out of the village entrance, using the cover of the bamboo forest to run and retreat.
When the militia ran out of a thousand meters away, a burst of machine guns swept in, and it turned out that the Vietnamese army came down from the mountain, through the bamboo forest, seized a small hill on the right side of the road, and opened fire on the militia. Because of the distance, the militiamen ran away again, and the bullets stirred up clusters of earth flowers on the ground. Huang Shiqing immediately asked everyone to quickly disperse to the low-lying areas on both sides of the highway to hide.

With nothing to do, Liao Chaolu led his group to appear on the outside of the hill on the left side of the highway. Huang Shiqing was overjoyed, and even shouted with gestures to Liao Chaolu to quickly occupy the mountain. Liao Chaolu had just gone to pick up the submachine gun of the dead Vietnamese soldier and unwrapped the bullet bag on his body, and he had delayed for a while and was left behind. Liao Chaolu immediately led the three militiamen to quickly pedal up the mountain bag. They had just reached the top of the hill and almost had a shot with a squad of Vietnamese troops. The enemy left 3 corpses, dragged 2 wounded people and crawled away with a rolling belt.
Lin Hongchun led his group to occupy a small hill behind the team, and the enemy of a squad climbed straight up the mountain. Lin Hongchun pulled the trigger and knocked down the first one, and the back just wanted to drag the body, and was beaten by Lin Hongchun to cry daddy and mother. The rest of the Vietnamese troops immediately fell to the ground and retreated.
The militia triumphed
At this time, the machine guns on the small heights on the right were still sweeping.
