Chen Dashou ( 陈大受 ; Désa Đại ) , a former Qing dynasty minister , was a qing military minister , a native of Xiamadu Village , Qiyang County , whose family was poor when he was young , and whose father was a tenant farmer. There were merchants of the same ethnic group who often went out to sell fish, and the family had a lot of books, and Chen Dashou took care of his family and used it to read. Yongzheng 11 years in the middle of the jinshi, Qianlong first year imperial examination ranked first, appointed Hanlin Academy editor, and then succeeded to the official department, ceremonial department waiter, and served as the feast lecturer (when the emperor's teacher), and later promoted to the military department, the official Department Shangshu, the cooperative university shizhi military aircraft department, became the minister of decision-making. He also served as the governor of Anhui, Jiangsu, and Fujian, and became the governor of Liangguang.
Everywhere he went, he built water conservancy projects to help the victims of disasters, and the people benefited from them, and the court was deeply admired by the people of the times. His unique thinking, innovative spirit, historical contribution, far-reaching influence, is the pride of Qiyang people, and his history of struggle is also an important wealth of Qiyang spiritual culture.
When I was very young, I listened to the old people reciting the story of Chen Dashou, and I have always admired this great Qing official in ancient Qiyang, but only recently did I learn from the mouth of Hai Bo, the owner of the Qingfeng Outdoor Group, that Chen Dashou's hometown was in Xiamadu Lotus Pond Village. On the afternoon of October 31, 2016, when the school was on monthly leave, I drove my electric car, took my wife, navigated with Baidu maps, and found Chen Dashou's hometown of Lotang Village. Under the guidance of the villagers, on the next slope, we came to the former site of Chen Dashou.
Several huge ancient camphor trees stood in front of us, and one of them was estimated to be more than one meter and five meters, which was too shocking. At this time, we saw several people, cutting weeds. Upon inquiry, it was learned that they were all descendants of Chen Dashou, and one of them, an elderly man in his eighties, was very enthusiastic to guide the two of us. We chatted and watched, walked and photographed, our eyes were full of desolate scenery and tears of sadness: although the damage during the Cultural Revolution was the most serious, the large-scale mansion could faintly see the outline: the cornerstone of the foundation of the compound extended along the small slope of the field for about a mile, the gate of The Great Zhuang was very withered, but it was still stubbornly standing where it was, the scale of the courtyard of the three entrances was still faintly arguable, the two sides of the box, only half of the left, and the ruins and broken walls, the right side was nothing; the main hall was still there, but it was in disrepair and did not look like it. In the right front of the main hall, a red brick bungalow was built very inappropriately, which was too scenic. On the open space of the former site, there are weeds everywhere, and there are trees lying horizontally and vertically, and the ruins of the former site are dilapidated and full of devastation, which makes people strongly feel the vicissitudes of history and the transmutation of the world.
The old man told us about the history and monuments of the Chen Dashou family, and took out a portrait of Chen Dashou that had been treasured for many years; told the story of how his father had preserved the plaque given by Qianlong during the Cultural Revolution and was forced to hand it over; told the current situation in which government departments came here many times to inspect but did not follow up, and showed us the report of their application to the county government to restore and rebuild Chen Dashou's former residence. After swimming the old site, the old man was not afraid of hardships, took us through the grass, into the bamboo forest, over the ravines, climbed steep hills, and found the grave of Chen Dashou's mother, which made me very moved.
I think that in the context of the country's vigorous development of tourism, rural tourism is rising, and if the former site of Chen Dashou can be restored and rebuilt, it can at least enrich the attractions and connotations of rural tourism in Qiyang and play a positive role. After all, Chen Dafu was a former Qing dynasty minister who came out of a poor family, a very positive image of a Qing official in the minds of the qiyang people, and the pride of the qiyang people. If we adopt a little government allocation, rural self-financing points, and social donation points, and carry out emergency repairs first, it is possible to achieve initial results, and I hope that Chen Dasheng's descendants can achieve their wishes.
