On the morning of the 14th, the opening ceremony of the second Guangdong Provincial Go League was held. Li Xinjian, honorary chairman of the Guangdong Weiqi Association, Feng Yurong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Zhongshan Municipal People's Congress, Ding Xifeng, vice mayor of the Yangjiang Municipal People's Government, Chen Zhigang, executive vice chairman of the Guangdong Weiqi Association, luo Xianhe, world champion, and other leading guests attended the opening ceremony.
The league presents six major changes:
1. Separate the first and second division competitions and set the promotion and relegation.
Among them, the first twelve teams in the first competition are the first team, the other teams are the second team, the two after the setting of the first class are downgraded to the second division, and the first two of the second division are promoted to the first division, so the competition will be more intense under the competition system.
2. For the first time, professional female chess players and amateur 8-dan players participated
In addition to the amateur heroes in most of the province, more than 150 players also had professional female chess players and amateur 8 dan for the first time, and the professional female chess players were Gao Yongmei Chuduan of Guangzhou Tianyuan Chess Academy and Lu Shuochu Duan of Xinlei School team in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, both of which were the best in Guangdong women's Go; 8 dans, Ma Tianfang of Guangdong Donghu Chess Academy team and Bai Baoxiang of Guangzhou Degao Athletic Club, were all reigning amateur four kings; their participation greatly increased the attention of the competition.
Third, the contestants are inclined to the lower age group
There are 21 players aged 14 and below, an increase of 8 over last year; the minimum age is 7 years old, which is 4 years lower than the minimum age of 11 years in the first session; among them, Zou Ziyang 5 Dan of Guangzhou Qingyuan Chess Club Future Star and Huang Jiaye 5 dan of Guangzhou Qingyuan Chess Club Zhanjiang Friendship Team are 7 years old, and it is particularly worth mentioning that the total age of the Guangzhou Yiyuan Youth Team is only 26 years old, and the two female team members Han Duan 5 Duan and Xie Jiayan 5 Duan are 8 years old. From one side, it reflects the fruitful results achieved by Guangdong Province in attaching continuous importance to youth Go training for many years.
Fourth, for the first time, university and primary school teams participated
Guangdong University of Finance and Economics formed two teams to participate, proving that the university has a large number of Go enthusiasts, and the organization of Go activities is sound and colorful; Guangzhou Tianhe District Xinlei School attaches great importance to the popularization and promotion of Go in schools, and the popularity rate of student Go classes has been 100% in the past three years.
Fifth, multiple teams hire professional chess players as coaches
The teams coached by professional chess players are: Guangzhou Tianyuan Chess Academy Team Luo Xianhe Ninth Duan, Shenzhen Chess Association Team Lin Chaohua 7 Duan, Shantou Chess Academy Zhang Jiao 4 Duan, Guangzhou Qingyuan Chess Club Li Huasong 4 Duan, Guangzhou Tianhe District Xinlei School Zhu Jianshun 3 Duan, Qingyuan Game Go Team Cheng Xiaoqing Chu Duan, Zhuhai Weiqi Association Team Ren Kang Chu Duan. This phenomenon proves that the teams not only attach importance to team participation, but also attach great importance to the timely guidance of the team members during the competition.

In terms of awards, under the premise of retaining all the awards in the first edition, the top two prizes of the second class have been added, the "best male chess player" award has been added, the number of "sportsmanship awards" has been increased, and the top ten of the second class have been awarded honorary certificates.
In addition to the benefits of giving away large group photos and personal game photos, this year's organizing committee also invited the world champion Luo Jiuduan, Luo Jiuduan not only attended the opening and closing ceremonies as a guest, but also explained to everyone on the night of November 14 that year's "Ancient Strange Game" that broke the cycle of three disasters, bringing wonderful enjoyment to chess players.
After two days of wonderful battles in Guangdong Donghu Chess Academy team won the championship in 6 games, the Foshan Go Association, the Shenzhen Chess Association team, and the Guangzhou Qingyuan Chess Club team ranked second to sixth, and the second and second places were won by the Guangzhou Degao Athletic Club Team and the Guangzhou Qingyuan Chess Club Chess Friends Team, and the two teams were promoted to the first division together.
It is reported that the Guangdong Weiqi Association will invest more resources and continuous innovation to build the Guangdong Weiqi League into the highest standard traditional event in the province and become an annual Go feast for chess fans in Guangdong Province.
