Love it and build a museum for it? Cat slaves to Amsterdam can't miss this attraction

author:Inexplicably

Everyone has some dream place in their hearts, right? Growing up in the inland region, I wanted to see the real sea as a child. Later, I looked at many different forms of the sea, and I wanted to step all over the green mountains and even reach the end of the world.

A while ago, I read an article in zhihu daily newspaper that said that the development of information networks dilutes the significance of travel, and the future virtual reality is as powerful as Si, and why should it be tossed around in the scene. Maybe, maybe one day, sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch can all be deceived by technology. Until then, I still have places I'd like to see, like the Cat Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Katten Kabinet, founded by Bob Meijer, occupies part of his private residence. The mix of Gothic interior style and Art Deco posters makes this cat museum unique. Bob has some impressive collections of cat art, including works by Picasso, Rembrandt and Toulouse-Lautrec.

The museum was founded in 1990 and the story behind it is related to a cat named JPMorgan Chase. Bob, who gave the cat its name, is from Utrecht, the Netherlands, and is now a successful banker and investor. When he met Morgan, he was still a student at Utrecht University, and the librarian gave him the last of the four baby cats. The cat looked smart and independent, like Bob's eyes. They study together, walk together, spend holidays together, and have a deep friendship.

Bob then took Morgan to Amsterdam and spent a lot of fun together. More than once, he threw parties for Morgan, slept with it, and even wanted to open up part of his family space for the public to visit—which led directly to the breakdown of his marriage with his first wife.

If you're a cat lover, maybe you can understand his behavior and his summary of why people are attracted to cats. "That curiosity, that will to try without fear of failure, the kind of momentum that happily stands up and tries again after being hit" are all the qualities of cats that Bob admires, and it is also what he hopes he can have.

After Morgan's death, Bob began to think about how he could continue to keep it around. During a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, he saw an exhibition about cats and had the idea of building a cat museum. The museum not only displays works of art related to cats (paintings, sculptures, photographs, etc.), but also houses real cats, which is perfect for cat lovers to kill time.

If it were possible, I'd love to open a museum like this... Online is also OK! Eh. Is there anything you particularly want to visit? Let's talk about it in the comments :)
