Hong Xing: A fierce anti-Japanese general in western Yunnan

author:Pick up some Chinese studies

From January to April 1945 (the 34th year of the Republic of China), the Tengyue Daily repeatedly published the news of the death of a general: "Tengmin has no old or young, and the great faith cannot be forgotten", and everywhere there are "tears and pain sacrifices".

This general was none other than Hong Beard, a legendary figure in the Western Yunnan region, whose real name was Hong Xing.

Hong Xing, born in 1900 in Ningxiang, Hunan, was a major general in the Kuomintang Army. In his early years, he entered the 1st phase of Hunan Daowutang, and later entered the 13th phase of the Kuomintang Army University, and successively served as a company commander, battalion commander, regiment commander, brigade commander and other positions. After the "July 7 Incident", he personally led the team to participate in the battle against Japan. In 1943, he was appointed commander of the newly organized 39th Division of the 2nd Army of the Kuomintang Army. His nickname was "Hong Beard", and he was called "one article and one weapon" in the anti-Japanese ballads of the Tengchong people along with peng jie, chief of staff of the division.

At the end of 1943, the Japanese army began the third Tengbei sweep, quickly drawing 8,000 Japanese troops from all over the country to attack Tengbei, in addition, another Japanese army led by Matsumoto Kiroku Daisa, from Myitkyina north, through the deep mountains and old forests, in an attempt to encircle our anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians from north to south.

Matsumoto can be said to be half a China pass, when he learned that it was Hongxing of the Reserve 2nd Division of the 11th Group Army of the Chinese Expeditionary Force who was leading the anti-Japanese resistance in Tengchong, in order to let the other side take the initiative to surrender, he asked the local traitors to give Hongxing a battle letter.

The letter reads:

Commander of the 2nd Reserve Division, Hong Xing:

The Imperial Army of my Empire has entered your realm, so why not face it head-on? Hiding in the shadows and hurting people, is it not a dignified military demeanor? General Jiuwenhong has the title of "God of War", and the Imperial Japanese Army wants to see you, and has specially arranged to line up in the territory within three days to compete with each other! If you dare to go to the appointment, you are lucky! Otherwise, Er and others should withdraw from the bright light, and I am ashamed to make enemies with those who are hiding for their lives.

After Reading it, Hong Xing and the chief of staff Peng Jie conducted a careful deployment study, and decided to kill the mighty Japanese army. So, i wrote a letter of application:

Colonel Matsumoto:

Invited to hunt the turf, fortunately!

Wolves get started, can not fight! The other generation invaded, and yan could not be annihilated! I have long heard that the white-knife fighting of the Japanese army is praised as unparalleled in the world, so I have long wanted to learn one or two to feast my eyes. At that time, may the two sides not fire a single shot, but exclusively fight with a white blade. If the Japanese army is not timid, look forward to the three days of Shang'er and other deployment of the flag at the turf pass, General Ben will lead the team out of the mountain to fight!

Three days later, Hong Xing personally led 150 soldiers, armed with large knives donated by Dai Anlan's 200th Division, and defeated Matsumoto at the turf pass. Japanese war newspaper sources called Hong a "Chinese god of war" and offered a reward for his arrest.

In fact, in addition to daring to lead his troops to charge into the battlefield, Hongxing often disguised himself as ordinary people and mobilized the masses in the villages, enjoying a high prestige among the people.

Once, in order to squat a small group of Japanese soldiers, he pretended to be a meal and squatted at an intersection for a whole day.

Another time, before attacking Tengchong City, Hong Xing personally disguised himself as a coolie and mixed into the construction team of the Japanese army fortress of Feifengshan outside Tengchong City to conduct on-the-spot reconnaissance, and was accidentally left behind by the Japanese Kou, but in the end, there was no danger.

After Tengbei changed defenses, Hong Xing was transferred to the commander of the New 39th Division of the 6th Army, and was ordered to defend Zhang Jinshan and South Tianmen in the Battle of Longling, and block the main force of the Japanese reinforcements, and the team was almost exhausted!

Hong Xing was seriously injured by the crash of his own jeep on the way back to a meeting at the Governor's Office!

He eventually died at the 2nd Field Hospital of the 6th Army of the Expeditionary Force.

Li Gengen sighed sadly, "Thousands of battles of all sizes, hongxing's death is sad." (WeChat: songshugonghui)
