On August 15, 1937, the air raid siren in Nanjing sounded, which was the first time that the Japanese army had attacked Nanjing after bombing Shanghai.

In 1943, the Zhong family was once again hit by air raids, and the newly settled small home was blown into ruins. That day, Zhong Nanshan went to the park with his parents to play and escaped a disaster.
The teenager Zhong Nanshan, like many boys, is naughty and playful, and also has amazing courage. Eleven-year-old Zhong Nanshan, taking advantage of the fact that his parents were not at home, took the largest cloth umbrella in the family and jumped from the window on the third floor. "He wanted to fly like a bird in the air."
As the teenager grew older, his gifted talents blossomed in him.
In 1955, Zhong Nanshan, a senior in high school, participated in the Guangdong Provincial Athletics Competition, where he won the second place in the 400-meter competition and broke the Guangdong Provincial Record. Subsequently, he represented Guangdong Province in the National Athletics Games, and won the third place in the men's 400 meters event.
At this time, the Central Institute of Physical Education wrote a letter, hoping that he could go to the national team to train. Faced with a choice, his father Zhong Shifan suggested studying medicine and choosing to study. Zhong Shifan believes that if Zhong Nanshan chooses medicine, he can cure diseases and save people for a lifetime.
Zhong Nanshan followed his father's advice and was admitted to Beijing Medical College, and is still a dazzling star on the sports field.
In 1956, he was received by Premier Zhou Enlai as a representative of the "Three Good Students" of Beijing Universities. In 1958, Zhong Nanshan, a junior in college, was selected to participate in the training of the Beijing Sports Training Team. In September 1959, he broke the national record with a time of 54.4 seconds at the First National Games of New China. In 1961, he finished second in the men's decathlon.
The movement also drew a red line for Zhong Nanshan. During the preparation for the National Games, he fell in love with Li Shaofen, the main player of the Chinese women's basketball team. Two people who train together have been hand in hand for a lifetime.
Because Li Shaofen is a basketball player, the young Zhong Nanshan, in order to marry his girlfriend, waited for 8 years to achieve his heart, and the two entered the marriage hall.
In fact, the Zhong and Li families were originally friends, but Zhong Nanshan and Li Shaofen, when they were young, only met once, and they were not very familiar, and Li Shaofen could not imagine that the young hairy boy at the beginning would become his lifelong concern
At that time, Li Shaofen was already the main player of the national women's basketball team at that time.
In 1957, the famous director Xie Jin's film "Women's Basketball No. 5" was released, which was based on her story.
Li Shaofen played basketball since childhood, all the way from the school team to the provincial team, she said:
"By 1951, the Guangdong women's basketball team went to participate in the Central and Southern District Basketball And Volleyball Selection Competition held in Wuhan, when I was only 15 years old, the youngest in the team, and later I was favored by the coach of the national team."
