Twenty years later, John Rambo, no longer as heroic as he once was, was far from home and retreated to a small village in northern Thailand, barely making ends meet in the ferry business on the banks of the Salween River. In fact, Rambo needs to do much more than just send people or goods to the other side of the river, because near the border between Thailand and Myanmar, it is still devastated by war, and the civil war between Burmese and Kayin State, although it has lasted for 60 years, shows no signs of stopping, so some areas, even Rambo, are cautious.
Rambo seemed to have finally found his place, leisurely between the mountains and the jungle, ferrying, occasionally fishing and catching poisonous snakes to sell for a living, living day after day, lonely but simple, he had not seriously fought for anyone for a long time, whether it was a doctor, a mercenary, a rebel, or a messenger of peace, and anyone passing through the war-torn terrain had little to do with him.
However, extraordinary people, doomed to live too long in peace, were approached by a group of missionaries whose missionary mission was to preach human rights, because they needed an English-speaking guide. Sarah and Michael Burnett, the leaders, explained to Rambo that the group had been trekking hard through the camps since last year to provide the refugees with necessities.
However, because the Burmese army has planted mines on the road, they can no longer take the previous method of taking the land route, which is too dangerous, and they can only choose the water route. They asked Rambo to help them cross the Salween River so they could bring medicine and food supplies to the Kayin people. At first, Rambo refused to enter Burma from Thailand, but looking at these foreigners who had traveled far and wide in the spirit of humanity, Rambo seemed to be slightly touched, and he finally managed to get Sarah, Michael, and all the people who came with them to their destination.
Almost two weeks later, pastor Arthur Marsh made a surprise visit, telling Rambo that none of the humanitarian aid workers he had escorted had returned and that the embassy could do nothing about their disappearance. Arthur mortgaged his house and raised a sum of money from the church to hire mercenaries to rescue the missionaries, as Arthur guessed that most of them had become prisoners of the Burmese military. Although Rambo has become Vietnam's most lethal super soldier through the training of the U.S. army, decades later, he has long since abandoned the use of violence and weapons to solve everything, and even the scars that are still clear and arguable are gradually melting into the skin, but the lone warrior knows that sometimes, some things must be done by him.
