The first Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Nursing Case Report Contest was a complete success

From May 7 to May 8, 2021, under the guidance of the Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the "First Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Nursing Case Report Competition" co-sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Office of Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Capacity Improvement Engineering and the Beijing Association of Integrative Traditional and Western Medicine was held in the Oriental Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The competition aims to further consolidate the professional skills of nursing staff in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, stimulate the enthusiasm of nursing staff to learn innovation and delve into technology, improve the technical service ability and level of nursing staff, and improve the connotation and quality of nursing services.

The competition received a positive response from nursing colleagues in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the competition included two stages of preliminary round and final, a total of 295 nursing cases from 75 hospitals participated in the preliminary round, including 173 cases in Beijing and 122 cases in other provinces and cities. After more than 1 month of competition, with the full support of the Beijing Society of Integrative Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, the Tianjin Society of Integrative Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and the Hebei Society of Integrative Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, a total of 20 players from each of the "Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Case Report Competition Group" and the "Western Medicine Nursing Case Report Competition Group" entered the final, fully interpreting the Nightingale spirit of the new era in which nursing staff are diligent in thinking and innovating in clinical work.

The guest judges who came to the competition included Zhu Jing, deputy researcher of the Medical Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Liu Gang, secretary general of Beijing Association of Integrative Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Liu Xiangdi, dean of school of nursing of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor Duan Hongmei of school of nursing of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Director Dai Hui of Nursing Quality Control Center of Beijing Fengtai Health Commission, Director Cao Yanxia of Nursing Department of Wangjing Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Director Guo Hailing of Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and Jiao Yunlan, expert of traditional Chinese medicine nursing. Hao Yunxia, Director of the Nursing Department of Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and An Fengrong, Director of the Nursing Department of Beijing Anding Hospital.

The competition was presided over by Tang Ling, Director of the Beijing Municipal Engineering Office for The Improvement of Nursing Ability of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chairman of the Nursing Committee of the Beijing Association of Integrative Traditional and Western Medicine, and Director of the Nursing Department of the Oriental Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The 40 contestants from 28 hospitals in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei reported the nursing cases one by one on the spot, fully demonstrating the comprehensive quality of the caregivers' rigorous, professional and standardized.

The judges gave high appreciation and affirmation to the performance of the contestants, Director Dai Hui gave a detailed explanation and comment from the selection of cases, the concept of nursing case competition, the difference between lectures and competitions, and how to focus on case problems; Dean Liu Xiangdi gave unique insights and professional guidance to nursing case reports from different angles such as professional characteristics to PPT production; other expert judges also commented on the performance of contestants from different professional perspectives, and pointed out that the nursing process should pay attention to humanistic care, and how psychological nursing is personalized How to truly land in combination with the actual clinical situation. Experts gave full affirmation and pointed out deficiencies to the contestants from different angles, which not only provided new ideas for future nursing work, but also gave a clearer understanding of the writing methods of nursing case papers.

After nearly 4 hours of fierce competition, the "TCM Nursing Case Report Competition Group" and the "Western Medicine Nursing Case Report Competition Group" were finally selected as 5 first prizes, 5 second prizes and 10 third prizes according to the on-site scoring.
