According to the Book of Han, Liu Infant was born in 5 AD, the only son of Liu Xian, the Marquis of Guangqi, and his grandfather was Liu Qing, the Emperor Xuan of Han. In 6 AD, Emperor Liu Yan died of illness, also known as the historical Hanping Emperor. At that time, Wang Mang was already in power and had considerable strength, but he still felt that the time was not ripe enough, so he made Liu Bao, who was only one year old at the time, the crown prince and inherited the throne of The Hanping Emperor. In this way, Liu Bao became a "puppet emperor", and Wang Mang began to embark on the path of blackmailing the Son of Heaven to order the princes!
Three years later, when the time was ripe, Wang Mang successfully usurped the throne as emperor and established the Daxin Dynasty. After ascending the throne, he put his 4-year-old widow Liu Bao under house arrest and ordered that no one should be allowed to contact him. After many years like this, Liu Bao grew up to become mentally handicapped, unable to take care of himself, did not understand verbal communication, and looked demented all the time. Since childhood, he has not had contact with the outside world, let alone been educated, which has made Liu Baby a fool. It's a pity, and Wang Mang is really hateful! Later, in 25 AD, Liu Bao was killed in the Linjing War at the age of 25.
After Liu Bao's death, where he was buried, there are three inferences in historians. The first was in his hometown of Chang'an (present-day Xi'an).
Regarding the first inference, the ancients attached great importance to the return of deciduous leaves to the roots. Although Liu Infant died in Linjing, it is not excluded that his bones were transported back to Chang'an for burial. At that time, Wang Mang had already been defeated by the first emperor Liu Xuan, but the imperial court believed that Liu Infant was the authentic royal bloodline in order to inherit the throne, and this was originally Liu Bao's. However, it was attacked by Liu Xuan's clique. According to Ye Shi, Gong Lin and Fang Wang, among others, took Liu Bao to Linjing and made him emperor, but was overthrown by Liu Xuan not long after. Therefore, Liu Infant also lost his life in the war. After all, Liu Infant and Liu Xuan are compatriots of the same ethnic group, so it is also reasonable for Liu Xuan to bring Liu Infant's bones back to his hometown chang'an for burial. In addition, Linjing and Chang'an are not far away from each other.
The second inference is in Linjing (linjing, in present-day zhenyuannan, Gansu): Liu Infant was killed on the battlefield by Li Song, the chancellor of the later emperor Liu Xuan. You must know that although Liu Bao is a fool, he is also a member of the royal family. Therefore, after Li Song killed Liu Baby, he was afraid of being held responsible for the disaster of killing himself, so he found a secret place to secretly bury Liu Baby. There was no trace left, and the only inference was in the Linjing area. But now there is a lack of relevant historical records, if it is really in the Linjing area, then whether it can be found or not depends on luck.
The third inference is that there are no graves in the wilderness. Liu Baby died in the war, and was not discovered at all, after all, there were so many people who died on the battlefield, and their lives and deaths were hanging in the balance, where there was still the heart to pay attention to a fool "emperor". After Liu Infant died, he was like an ordinary soldier on the battlefield, and naturally there was no problem of burial, and he became one with nature in the wilderness.
All three inferences have a valid place. But what Xiaobian is more accepting is the first inference, Liu Bao's leaves fell to their roots after death, buried somewhere in Chang'an, and rested with his ancestors. Liu Bao did nothing wrong, but ended up with a pitiful life. It's just a pity that I was born in the wrong era, and I can't do anything about it.
