New York Knicks today officially announced the official appointment of Jeff Hornasek as the team's new manager.
"Jeff [Hornacek] is very keen on basketball and has strong leadership," said team president Phil Jackson, "and in both his player and coaching career, he has shown the ability to improve the game." ”
"I am very excited and honoured to be the manager of this historic team." Hornasek is the 28th manager of the team in its 70-year history. He went on to say, "I look forward to working with Phil (Jackson), who is the coach and mentor I have admired in the sport for a long time. I hope to work with him and other staff to take the team to the heights that Knicks fans have come to expect. ”
Hornacek was sacked by the Suns in February. Prior to that, he coached the Suns for two and a half seasons, with a total record of 101 wins and 112 losses.
